I went to play in the Stoke Chess Congess August 2025, and the Town Hall was great and my nearby accommodation on Cornwallis road was good. Stoke has the feel of a poor working class town, but has it's own vibrancy. Had a great meal with friends at the Sangam next to the Spode Rose Garden. The City is a wonderful place. So much to see and do.
The City is a wonderful place. So much to see and do. The parks are amazing, Trentham Gardens is absolutely wonderful. The 5 towns are great. All have their own characteristics that need to appreciated. The people are so friendly and don't forget the Staffordshire oatcakes. What uou waiting for.Guest review byAnonymous

Carpets in the room were very stained and the bathroom had areas that needed some TLC. Rubbish view but the hotel is on an industrial park next to the football stadium so couldn’t expect more. Breakfast was ok.. nothing to shout home about. Eggs were off the menu today which was a shame. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable but bed base had some dodgy stains!
