The hotel is smack in the middle of Inverness. What happens in Inverness is within a few hundred yards of the hotel. If you come by car, you can park right at the back door. The staff was most helpful to direct me how to get there and to pay for the parking. The staff was wonderful throughout. The room (we stayed on the ground floor) was superb: most comfortable beds, modern bathroom, very quiet. Top!!

FAQs about hotels in Inverness

Gateway to the Highlands and Loch Ness

A jewel with historic buildings and charming streets, Inverness is surrounded by a typical Scottish Highland landscape. It is located 10 km from Loch Ness, along the mouth of the Ness River and the Moray Firth coast. It is regarded as the northernmost city in the United Kingdom, and capital of the Highlands.

Take a walk around the Old Town, visit St Andrew’s Cathedral, and make a stopover in the charming Victorian Market. The Old High St Stephen's Church is the oldest building in town, and has been a religious site since pre-Christian times.

The Inverness Castle overlooks the river and is nowadays the seat of the Sheriff Court. A hotel in Inverness city centre is ideal to enjoy the different cultural and recreational activities in town.

Watch the Atlantic salmon jumping out the river near the Ness Islands, and try to catch a glimpse of the famous monster of Loch Ness. The Cairngorms National Park is 40 km away, and Chanonry Point is the best spot to watch dolphins, just 24 km away.

Inverness hotels include a large offer of small, cosy guest houses, B&B’s, and rural cottages, allowing a closer contact with the nature. Don’t miss the Inverness accommodation deals on Booking.com!

There are somehow literally no museums or libraries open on Mondays or tuesdays, which were the days I was stuck there as a travel layover. So I got stuck literally just sitting in a park in the rain twice for several hours waiting to check in to my hotel, as there was nothing else to do since I didn’t need anything from any stores or restaurants and no other indoor spaces or activities were open within an hour and a half of the city centre by public transit. There are also only two small, museums available even on other days. Inverness might actually have the worst museum ratio Ive encountered in the British isles. Almost everywhere else has some form of local history museum or the like, Inverness has one historic house and one art gallery.

So many wonderful things to see and do within an easy driving distance from Inverness. This is the place to stay to explore the highlands. We enjoyed having the advantage of being in a city with all it offers including an airport to fly in and out, History is all around you from stone age to castles. The countryside is beautiful. The seacoast is not fall away and the National Parks were breath taking.

Totally immaculate in every way. Even the scotland flag made in stones looked manicured! Charming hosts , a wonderful bed and an overlook to the sea. A huge breakfast completed a perfect stay. Worth the extra journey to outside Inverness. A shame local restaurants closed but the recommended Cawdor Arms 10 min drive away worth the drive. Totally accessible to Inverness airport almost down road but hardly a busy airport so no noise problem

It was a lovely and clean property. It had everything we needed . Well kept, and the owner was very good keeping in touch . We have told family and friends all about it and recommended that if they go up to inverness for a break to try and book Edgewood. We will definitely try to book this bungalow again when we next come up to Scotland.
