10/10 means definitely would stay again and also recommend to friends/family. Very kind and helpful Hotel staff in a beautiful natural serene garden setting very close and convenient located to the train station. Also not far off the town center and ruins. The alpacas are a bonus point, we tried not to use them as a photo op, they just enjoy doing their own quiet thing anyway : )

The house is located not too far from the center and the city ruins - 8 mins walking and it has a really nice atmosphere. The hosts were really helpful and arranged everything that we requested - transfers, trips, tuk-tuk. The breakfast was also great and more then enough for us. Hot water and tea was always available that was a nice add on.

The rooms were excepcional, with seemingly brand new installations (beds, toilets, showers). Best shower water heat and pressure that we’ve had in Cusco and its surroundings. The manager Walter was extraordinary: a very warm, welcoming, and attentive man!

    Strongly recommend to stay in the city instead of doing your Machu Picchu trip from Cusco directly. It would be much less tiring and the city of Ollantaytambo is very cosy and comfortable. Specially if you are coming from outside Cusco and flying in, my recommendation to fly into Cusco and go straight to Ollantaytambo, stay here and visit Machu Picchu. Following by this, go back to Cusco for your stay and fly back. This was a good way we thought to beat the potential high altitude sickness.

    Ollantaytambo is a very interesting place in itself.

    Ollantaytambo is a very interesting place in itself. It can also be used as a starting point to visit Machu Picchu and other interesting archeological sites around. It's about 2 hours from Cusco by taxy.

    A delightful small town set in dramatic scenery. A bustling town square and a quieter and interesting old quarter with a variety of bars and restaurants The two sets of ruins either side of town are worth a visit for the views.

    If going to Machu Picchu or hiking the inca trail, it's better to stay in Ollantaytambo than Cusco. Otherwise you have a 2 hour bus drive to Ollantaytambo anyway to catch the train. Cute old Incan town with amazing ruins.

    Just an amazing place.

    Just an amazing place. We loved it so much we were afraid Cuzco wouldn’t measure up (but it did). Great place to acclimate for the higher altitude of Cuzco. There is a free hike up the mountain, the square is a great place to relax and people watch, the people are friendly.

    Absolutely beautiful, memorable town which should not be missed when passing through the Sacred Valley. Picturesque and brimming with history and culture. Archeological ruins are adjacent to the town. You will take many (great) photos!

    Hotel location is pretty close to everywhere, close to Peru Rail/Inka Rail station and Ollantaytambo Fortress, also to Plaza de Armas,. You can do all in walking distance. Bedroom is nice and clean, facing Ollantaytambo river and fortress. Beds are comfortable and shower with hot water and high pressure. Mr.Derek is very nice, provided us many information of what we needed to know, also helping us to enter Ollantaytambo when we came back from Machu Picchu. Thanks Mr.Derek...
