Hotel ran down a bit..not the fault of owners, more the sad decline of the old fashioned British seaside hotels...staff were friendly and helpful and polite..for price and location can't really grumble...not the best and not the worst either..room is clean and reasonably quiet so for price..it's ok

A clean, lively town with good cafe’s, restaurants , theatres and The Towner, a brilliant Gallery /arts centre housing an original art collection, a cinema, theatre and an innovative informal and highly original restaurant. Great art collection themed around community art movements - old and new. Superb staff!

We found Eastbourne had a lot to offer for our stay. The little train is great for the kids, and a beautiful ferris Wheel along the front. Beaches are great, and the pier is ideal for a few slots and an ice cream. It’s a very relaxed seaside town and can be a pleasant place to stay for a few days on a budget as plenty of little cafes, walks and parks . Charity shops too if you like them.

Eastbourne is very run down - lots of empty shops and people sleeping on the street. The Beacon is okay as a shopping centre with well known stores. The local authority needs to spend money to update the town - even the pier is past its best but could become a local attraction for everyone. I enjoyed the sightseeing bus - good experience with the opportunity I get off and back on along the route.

Eastbourne is still a delightful seaside town that hasn't been too spoilt by modern development over the years. It has a well known art gallery, 3 excellent theatres and the bandstand all providing varied entertainment. There are also activities and sporting venues to keep the children amused.

The east end of Eastbourne is being developed with two new restaurants within a short walk from Bay Lodge. We enjoyed a meal at the BEACH DECK on both evenings. The 99 'bus will take you into the Town with the Beacon shopping centre and Cineworld. From town other 'buses can take you to the Meads to walk to Beachy Head and over the Downs or to Birling Gap and Seaford. We took the 'bus in the other direction to Sovereign Harbour. On other occasions we have been by 'bus to Hastings , Bexhill and Brighton from Eastbourne.

We always love visiting Eastbourne, however, we were very shocked at the amount of renovation going on on the seafront near the pier. We were also very upset to see the planting in the flower beds. They are usually full of flowers, but the layout now looks very sparse and unappealing.

My daughter and I love Eastbourne and we often stay at the Lansdowne Hotel. The staff are very friendly, the hotel is very comfortable, reasonably priced, and conveniently located opposite the sea front and within walking distance from the town centre, theatres, pier and bandstand. The hotel has lift access to all floors. Plenty of available parking on the sea front with free parking for blue badge holders. We stayed for breakfast which was excellent. There is plenty to do in the area which is perfect for disabled travellers. Would recommend.

This is a great little hotel, situated on one of Eastbourne's seafront squares. Ran by a fantastic team who go out of their way to make sure that your stay is a great experience. Struggling like everyone, they have somehow managed to keep prices low, whilst refusing to sacrifice their ethos.
