Dawlish is a pretty and lively town . Locals are pleasant and friendly . The beaches are clean and the most of the shops are independent. The Lawn is beautiful (although, work is being carried out at present. The ducks and black swans are cared for and lovely to see . It’s a lovely family destination . We love la Cygnerie especially the deli ,lovely meal at the new brasserie The Wild Swan . Co op and the One Stop shop really handy . Green grocers is amazing ,mostly local produce . You can walk everywhere . Lovely new park for children ,a little walk from the town but worth seeking out .

The waterfowl on the brook were amazing. The walk along the sea wall to Dawlish Warren was a unique experience. The more rugged walk to Teignmouth was equally special. The Reflections Bistro gave us a lovely lunch. The nearby gift shops were also well worth a visit.

Great seaside town - lots of great walks nearby but it is well worth checking out the busses (single is currently a flat £2 anywhere). Has a lot of memories for me as my grandparents lived in Dawlish. While here consider a trip to Paignton Zoo - about a 30 minute drive or you can get the train or bus (33 goes Dawlish Warren to Paignton). Forest Fungi (https://forestfungi.co.uk/) is well worth a visit (farm shop/mushroom farm & café) & a must if you love mushrooms.

We chose Dawlish as an over-night stop whilst completing a few legs of the South West Coast path. Walking along the iconic coastline, with the train line just metres away on one side and the sea on the other was amazing - especially when the trains were passing! You can't say Dawlish doesn't have excellent train links! The town itself is based around 'The Lawn', with plenty of places for eating and shops around the perimeter of this centre piece. Just a short walk away to the east is Dawlish Warren, with amusements and plenty of beach front. As a base for walking, Dawlish is an ideal place to 'set up camp' with a variety of holiday parks, hotels and B&B's to choose from. We chose an old and charming little cottage just 2 minutes walk from the 'Lawn' called 1 Laurel Cottage (highly recommended for what we required, with the also very charming and knowledgable Ginkgo as the host!). There are plenty of options around the town to eat in the evening, as well as a good selection of bakeries and cafe's for breakfast - don't be put off with the lack of breakfast in the Laurel Cottage, it literally is 2 minutes walk from the Lawn! We ate in the Thai restaurant 'Sticky Rice' that evening and left with very full bellies, in the morning we picked up coffee and pastries from one of the bakeries and sat on The Lawn to eat them, before carrying on our walk.

There was a large selection for breakfast. The staff were friendly. We had a great view from our room at the top of the house. We had a suite of rooms which gave us plenty of room to relax. The stairs going up to the top room were very narrow, I could imagine some people having difficulty with these. Unfortuneately, we did not really like Dawlish and found it hard to find anywhere decent to eat in the evening, however the location was a great for visiting other parts of the Devon coast,

Charming property and friendly host. 15 mins to the town along the river. Ideal for walking to Teignmouth and dining at the Jolly Fish Shop. Also for walking the coast to Starcross and the River Exe. The Sticky Rice Thai restaurant in Dawlish is excellent, as are the pasties at 100 year old Gay's Bakery. Will try and visit some of the interesting looking pubs next time!

My 4th visit in 12 months so clearly I like it here. Not much to add from my previous feedbacks. Clean, good location to the sea and Dawlish town. Rail and bus access good. Staff always friendly. A reminder to take towels and that the toilet/shower block is about a minute or so away from the pods. I would always recommend this place.
