Must do is the Pacific Whale Foundation Whale trip, totally awesome and they are non profit so all the money goes back into the research of the whales. I prefer the quieter side of Hervey Bay the side we stayed in Torquay was busy but vibrant. Loads of places to eat on the Esplanade. The pier is worth a walk along. Hervey Bay was great as the esplanade is long and plenty of shops/restaurants and bars to visit. There is a walking path on both sides and a few jetty's and piers to walk down. Fantastic atmosphere and facilities. Council have done a lot of work to make the place look and feel great to be in. Great amount of places to eat and good variety. Spacious walkways that are big enough to share with all modes of transport eg: walking, cycling, prams, motorised wheelchairs etc. everyone was so courteous to other users. Quiet and slow Queensland town.
Quiet and slow Queensland town. Main residents are elderly so not as many hoons and young people. Very friendly, plenty of bars/hotels. Beaches are amazing, never full. Plenty of places to fish. If you have a dog you must visit Dundowran Beach.Guest review byShell PAustralia

The complex was secure and quiet with many permanent residents. The apartment was well appointed with a full kitchen and comfortable beds. Near to the Hervey Bay Boat Club. We organised several boat trips through the Boat Club and they were fabulous. We also had a meal there and enjoyed drinks on the deck.
