Good value, good breakfast choice and generous servings. Public rooms a little shabby, but bed and pillows very comfortable. Shower was good. Quiet after 10.30 which is good for a family hotel. Good facilities on site for children. More of a family resort than a couples resort, but different hotel options on the site would suit others. We went with grandchildren so fine for us. Lovely surrounding scenery, close to Aviemore train station and attractions in Aviemore. We were drawn to Aviemore by the opening of the Cairn Gorm funicular, after so many years--but then before we arrived, it was closed down again, along with the cafe/bar at the upper end of the Cairn Gorm trails, which persuaded us not to try for the summit. Aviemore is a great outdoorsy place. The town needs better laundry facilities, but other than that it is well-equipped. It is really very pleasant.Guest review byEdwardUnited States - 10.0

There was Loads to do in Aviemore we did so much in a few days that we were there, and I would definitely go back and do it all again. There were some fantastic walks which range from 3 miles plus. Nice gradual walks around the lochs. Loch Morlich was absolutely stunning. We made our way up to the Cairngorms ski resort and had a walk up there as well. The scenery is amazing. We took quad bikes out on a private quad bike tour which was the highlight, we went go-karting, we ate out! They were very accommodating. Restaurants there are okay, the best one that we found was the winking owl. It was vibrant, busy, and the food was absolutely delicious. We also ate in the Caingorm hotel which was nice. I perhaps would not eat in the McDonald's resort because that was not so good Aviemore is a brilliant place with so much to do.
