Wonderful.
Wonderful. The staff at Mountain Goat Windemere Tourist info are amazing and knowledgeable and helpful. Great info centre. Beautiful town. Regular bus service and train service makes it so easy for travellers. The walks and lakes and tarns are so fantastic. Loved it all. Best meal was at Lamplighter hotel. Excellent service and delicious food. Great to have a post office and supermarket in town.Guest review byRachaelAustralia - 8.0

bowness get very busy at peak times... still a nice a place to visit. seeing and feeding the swans and geese was nice .... just be aware there where lots of rats round there getting the food from the floor. Alot of transport from here, boat trips and lots off buses. Go on the mountain goat trip takes you all over the lakes in a mini coach with a guided tour. A fantastic place to eat is broadwalk bar and grill... you have to pre book to get in, if you manage to go get seated upstairs and ask for tubbs .. a waiter at broadwalk what a fantastic bloke, he is so funny, always cracking jokes to you and the kids.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Have always loved Keswick.
Have always loved Keswick. It's a beautiful town in the English Lake District surrounded by amazing scenery, imposing mountains of Skiddaw & Blencathra to the North, Cat Bells to the west & a stunning view south across Derwent Water. Lots of shops to cater for all tastes with two craft breweries & a Wine shop along with Jimmys Cocktail Bar....top tip though these all close at 9pm so get there early.Guest review byHargreaves - 6.0
The hotel was a disappointment. Reception was at the Bar.
The hotel was a disappointment. Reception was at the Bar. The receptionist was in a bad mood and had no customer care at all. it seems if he smiled he will get in trouble. Room was not ready until 5pm. the room had no view at all. There was no air conditioning and the weather was so hot. As for the lake view as beautiful, we walked around the centre, it was quiet and peaceful. boat ride was also fun.Guest review byAmeenaBahrain - 8.0

so many many little independent shops hidden away in alleyways, and squares. Don't be deceived by just driving through the town - there is so much to see and explore behind the facades you first see. Plenty of hidden car parks too, which are well signpostedGuest review bySallyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Kendal is a beautiful and historic market town with lots of excellent shops, pubs and restaurants. It's got a great library for rainy days and there's lots of fascinating old alleyways and buildings to enjoy. We loved eating at the Brewery Arts Centre in the evening and also the brilliant Comida Spanish tapas cafe just down from the arts centre. Kendal is a great place to use as a base to explore the Lakes.Guest review byJonUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Very busy place during the day.
Very busy place during the day. There is a ginger bread shop by the church that has William Wordsworth's grave. This must be the busiest shop in Britain. From around 9.30 till 4.30 there is a queue. If you think I exagerate, go visit, and happy waiting. Some nice galleries, cafes and restaurants. All accomodation in Grasmere looks high end. Lovely scenery and walks. Once day trippers have left, place calms down and becomes more relaxed.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Grange Over Sands is a gem of a place to holiday, it has numerous and varied shops, cafes and restaurants. A tranquil place that does not seem to attract the rowdy groups like Windermere and surrounding areas. Beautiful views across Morecambe bay and a good location to visit the more populated locations.Guest review byCarolUnited Kingdom - 10.0
