A Perfect Birthday Surprise – 10/10 Experience! We stayed at the hotel for one night as a surprise for my wife’s birthday, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for more. From the moment we arrived, Maureen went above and beyond to make the occasion special. The room was beautifully decorated with flowers, a cake, wine, and lovely touches that made it feel truly personal. We were warmly greeted by Maureen at reception, who was incredibly welcoming and helpful in showing us to our room. The room itself was clean, spacious, and the bed was unbelievably comfortable – we both had a great night’s sleep. The effort and attention to detail really made our stay memorable. I can’t thank Maureen enough for helping make my wife’s birthday so special. I would 100% stay here again. An easy 10/10!

apparently we were upgraded to this garden suite which had a hot tub on the porch. we didn't use it but neighbours did as we've heard it. we didn't get around to do so, bad on us. easy access to the pool although way too busy and people saving their loungers very early in the morning... great outdoor area, with the terrace overlooking the pool and all that. VERY BIG BUMMER as they were closing the outdoor quite early, like 10pm or so due to some license issues and neighbors complaints, very odd for a place like this to be honest.... on one of the evenings, big kudos to Choka and Philips, they were great while we put them through difficult times, they are deffo people to keep!!! We'd love them in our businesses anytime whatsoever!!!!

FAQs about hotels in Bournemouth

Sea Air and Savoir-Faire

Known for its sandy beaches and good nightlife, Bournemouth is a popular seaside resort on the Dorset coast between Poole and Christchurch.

The town is centered on the Bourne River, running downhill towards the sea by Bournemouth Pier. This pier looks back towards a promenade lined with beach huts at the foot of grassy cliffs. The promenade continues west to Poole, while a road heads east to neighboring Boscombe, where anglers often fish from its pier. Overlooking it is a clifftop road housing some Bournemouth hotels with sea views.

Booking.com also has hotels near the BIC (Bournemouth International Center) in the West Cliff area. This convention center and music venue is a short walk from the Art Deco Pavilion Theatre next to the Lower Gardens. In this popular city park is the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered hot air balloon with far-reaching views.

At the park’s top end the river disappears under a large square, then emerges in the Central Gardens. Overlooking these gardens is the Victorian town hall, which used to be one of several spa hotels in Bournemouth. Nearby, there's a Grade I registered historic church, and St. Peter’s Church has the grave of Mary Shelley, author of "Frankenstein."

On the outskirts of town, near 4 golf courses and the Castlepoint Shopping Center, is Bournemouth Airport.

Locals are friendly, bus drivers are helpful. Lots of places to park. Lovely garden for walk through with flowing stream in the middle of the city away from cars and buildings. City seems to have everything you might need and not so extensive or chocking with traffic so you learn your way around pretty quickly. Unique eateries. Miles of golden sand and tours available on land and water.

Main reason for visit was actually to see my daughter, her hubby & my grandson who just turned one in Southbourne. We went shopping, walking in parks, having brunch & dinner, in different eating places each day. Ludo Lounge is fab & provides games! Lots of choice, Bournemouth much more noisy than lovely clean Southbourne… Also Boscombe, and Christchurch, are nice areas: plus a lovely lake with ducks & swans, and a great water area for little ones, and a children’s play area. Think this was called Quamps Park. There is also an excellent bus service.

We have been visiting or holidaying in Bournemouth for over 55 years as a young couple and then as family with the children and until about 5 years ago always loved it. However, it then started going downhill (big stores closing, the Square and the Winter Gardens losing their former glory, rowdy and intimidating groups all over) but the beaches always remained great. Now it is pleasing to see that things are changing again and improving back to its former self.

Dorset is a wonderful part of England.

Dorset is a wonderful part of England. There is lots of places to visit. This time as we are not too mobile we took the bus. My partner has a freedom pass as he is a pensioner now so he did not have to pay on the bus. It was a great service and nice way to see things. We stayed in Boscombe this time and the beach area is beautifully clean. There is a lovely Harvester there and the food was reasonable but great quality. We noticed there were a few coastguards there, the sea was quite choppy! We have also stayed in other parts of Bournemouth and it is worth a visit!

Bournemouth is a beautiful place sadly with four hotels being taken over for migrants sadly this now ruins Bournemouth. Speaking to family’s and local people the winter gardens and beach are not safe to be in the evening due to the large number of migrants who congregate there.

Sue, the proprietor was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I needed Oat Milk and it was supplied. The breakfast was the best we have ever had. The choice was Continental, Full English or both, top quality. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, with ensuite facilities. There was off road parking available. The hotel is just a 5 min walk from the beach and town, also just 45 min walk along seafront to Bournemouth. We will definitely be coming back...

Fabulous location for BIC and beach etc. price wise you get what you pay for in Bournemouth. Car park adjacent just up/down few steps. Room spacious as is bathroom unlike some local places. Great for 1 or 2 nights if not longer. All clean but as you'd expect this is a popular hotel and so things may show that. Bed comfortable but if having a double it is 2 singles joined. We will stay again. Already booked and plan to try facilities next time.

Easily the best hotel that I have stayed in when I visit Bournemouth and I've stayed in quite a few different hotels over the last few months. Great value for money, large rooms, really comfortable beds and facilities. A five minute walk from the town centre and the beach. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. I've stayed here twice and will be booking again.

Location of hotel was ok, although Bournemouth as a place was as a massive let down. Whilst the Derby Manor is really nice and well appointed, the city centre area is full of what appears to be homeless and drunken/drugged up immigrants that pester you for money and make you feel uneasy.
