There are many other location in the Rocky Mountains nicer than Banff. The three days we stayed there it was crowded of people, very far what we expected in the mountains. All the attractions were crowded, in special the hot tubs. After seen the small pools crowded we refused to go into. Besides, the restaurants have crazy prices. Banff was the worst experience in our 3 weeks in Canada. Of course, we loved the environment, the glaziers, the trip from Jasper to Banff, but we recommend to sleep in Jasper or other locations instead of Banff.Guest review byMarioSpain - 10.0
The town was quaint and delightful.
The town was quaint and delightful. Nice walkable small downtown. Lots of places to eat outside (we were there in summer). Lots of walking trails near and around the Bow River that runs right along Canmore. We ate at Murietta's Bar, the Table, and Das Schnitzel --- all wonderful. We hiked the Grassi Lakes Trail and did the Scenic River Nature Float --- also so good. If they can increase their parking places downtown, that would make it great.Guest review bymackbookUnited States - 10.0

As someone who visited Lake Louise in 2007 the experience was different at that time we could drive right up to the hotel and that makes it a difficult for people with disabilities. The lake is still just as beautiful as it was back in 2007 also we felt That it would be a good experience to be able to walk through your fabulous Fairmont hotel, which we were unable to do this time.Guest review byCarlosUnited States - 2.0

It was awful from start to finish way over charged it was worth more like 50$ a night than the 440$ a night I was charged- the room was old ,outdated , wifi only work when it felt like ( not often) the beds were so lumpy old mattress that my back was sore for days after their was dirt under the bed some previous renter had left their old cereal bits under the bed visible if the cleaning staff had bothered to look under the bed the very old shower leaked all over the floor the restaurant was lousy the food mediocre at best there is no reason to ever stay at this hotel it is a dumpGuest review byBeatrice - 10.0
What can I say except for WOW!
What can I say except for WOW! My husband and I were there in Sept/Oct and everywhere we turned was another magnificent view of a mountain, glacier, canyon, lake. We rented bikes and rode to Vermillion Lakes and beyond. We hiked up Johnston Canyon, we took easy and more challenging walks, and met people from around the world. We flew into Calgary, drove to Banff, then to Castle Junction and stayed in two places I would recommend - Johnston Canyon Lodge and Bungaloos and Castle Mountain Chalets. We had a great trip!Guest review byChinelli - 10.0

Beautiful location, ample choice of restaurants (including good gluten-free and vegan options), very lovely ambiance and walkability, some good sights to see in town plus access to a variety of activities. However, in high season, there are a LOT of tourists and hotel rates are high for what you get (e.g., over $500 for an older style hotel room that hasn't been updated).Guest review byJo-AnneCanada - 10.0

Canmore was our home base for the duration of the holiday and still my first pick based on all locations visited between Jasper, Banff to Hwy 40. Great vibes in the old town center, great walking friendly area with a wide range of choices for food to groceries.Guest review byCharles - 10.0

The lake is amazing and excels all the comments made about it. Would have liked more time to hike in the area, so allow a couple of days. The Hostel was great, especially as they provide dinner and breakfastGuest review bysiobhanAustralia - 6.0

Great views, very good food in restaurant and reasonable prices. Nice gift shop. There are lots of great places to go to from there and see and hike. We only stayed one night and got in later in the day. Only real issue was the room was very dark and hot. We had forgotten a small cooler in our room and although I know that there is no cell service no attempt was made to contact us to let us know where it was. We only knew that it was there as we retraced our route.Guest review byLynnCanada
