One of my favourite places.
One of my favourite places. This time I wanted to have two experiences I had never had there before: a walk round one of the local trails and the Pitlochry Festival Theatre. The walk was wonderful - perfect walking weather (some sunshine, not too hot). I saw The Great Gatsby at the Festival Theatre. The theatre is beautifully located and I can recommend the Port-na-Craig restaurant nearby - next to the river and great food. I was there during the storm.
I was there during the storm. I spent very little time in Pitlochry itself most of my time was out in the surrounding countryside I did not visit/use any of the facilities in the town or its immediate environment. It’s a simple hotel, with basic facilities which are quite dated. I suppose this why it’s competitively priced. The hotel is a 10 min uphill walk away from Pitlochry’s high street which is very convenient. It also has off road parking. Communication with the hotel staff was good and check in simple and fast.
