Good communication with the host, the keys were easily accessible via a lockbox. The cottage is perfectly located in the centre of Teignmouth, opposite the train station and 5 min walk from a big supermarket. The cottage itself was warm, cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. Plenty of crockery, cutlery, bedding and towels. We were provided with tea bags, coffee sachets and milk upon arrival. Beds were very comfortable.

What Guests Said About Teignmouth:

    Teignmouth is lovely.

Teignmouth is lovely. We saw Police out on patrol every day which was very comforting (unlike Plymouth where we didn't see a Police patrol over 3 days). Plenty of plants and the Town looks well-cared for. A lot of shopping options - and even bank hubs! The history of the Wetherspoons was very interesting. Great service. It is a great place to explore as it is very flat. The walk cross to Dawlish is scenic and again nice and flat. You can view the trains up-close as they run alongside the sea wall. Teignmouth pavilions is a great asset to Teignmouth. We saw a show and also attended a Vinyl/LP Sale there. The View is an excellent restaurant - the staff are lovely. Shaldon is also worth visiting on the great little Shaldon ferry.

The things we liked best were the The Den playground, the pedestrianised promenade, the ferry to Shaldon and the beach at Ness Cove. Everything was within walking distance - even for a three year old. We were also fortunate to encounter a parade and fireworks in Teignmouth and Shaldon Water Festival in the same week. There were many food options, but the Vietnamese-inspired Halulu stood out. It provided the tastiest food and the owners were happy to adapt dishes for children - absolutely brilliant.

A mixed bag, some places very good.

A mixed bag, some places very good. The Jolly Sailor, The Crab Shack and The Regency tea room stand out. Many others so, so check the last food order times. Some stop at 7pm! Avoid Wetherspoons if you have a dog, very dog unfriendly, not even allowed to sit in the outside area 'It's the same at all Wetherspoons mate' I was told. It doesn't make it right but it does make in universally stupid. Not enough good to make us go back, The Donkey sanctuary was lovely and the model village brilliant. Went briefly to Torquay and what a shabby shell of it's former glory. Paignton is the same we were told.

We have visited Teignmouth for over 40 years seen many changes but it’s a lovely compact little seaside resort with beaches and shops within 5 minutes walk. The back beach is great for sunset shots and watching the big cargo ships come in to the docks. The shops and locals are very friendly and helpful. The Ship inn on the back beach is a must visit great food and right on the beach. Seafood restaurant the Crabshack is also right on the beach but booking is advisable for both!.

I don't usually leave reviews but....Such brilliant staff who were welcolming, efficient and made it all so easy and lovely. A fabulous building and a fabulous room with a balcony which gave us views out to Teignmouth. This hotel is very well run and in the best places for views and swimming in Nesss Beach. Amazing breakfast choices and wonderful food. A lovely hotel and lovely hard working staff who made our stay super. Thank you.

Friendly staff a big thank you to CHARLOTTE on reception for upgrading our room which was clean with a nice view of the gardens and the sea. The hotels grounds are lovely and whether via the road or through the gardens it is only a short walk to the front into Teignmouth. All in all very convenient for getting around as the train station is a 5 minute walk and the bus stops are near by if you don't go in a vehicle.

The hotel is ideally situated for the seafront and flat walks into town. The new owners are busy working away to smarten up the building and what has been done is to a good standard. All credit to them and wishing them every success for the future.

Location excellent for town and seafront only issue is the proximity to the busy railway lines although we warned of this. Didn't seem to be a problem after about 11.00 pm. On our floor the view was not as attractive as anticipated.
