Our room was wonderfully spacious and spotlessly clean, making it the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. Dinner was an absolute highlight - a beautifully crafted seven-course gourmet menu with wine pairings that we’ll be talking about for a long time. The chef’s skill, creativity, and attention to detail were simply outstanding. From the moment we arrived, the manager made us feel truly at home with her warmth and hospitality. And as if that weren’t enough, the property’s resident puppy and the sweetest, most patient black cat added an extra touch of charm to our stay.

John was so welcoming and accommodating. Giving us the room downstairs was really appreciated. The breakfast was lovely. The rooms are lovely. Really loved the front lawn and the parking area. The public rooms in the hotel are delightful.

    Family of 4 including two teens.

    Family of 4 including two teens. They were able to please themselves and look around the town with ease or go to the rec over the bridge, and we had time to enjoy the lovely independent shops in Callander and visit a pub or two. We had fish and chips one night from the town and visited the ice cream shop, but there's a good variety of places to eat and drink. We did some great walks up to the Bracklin Falls and the crags. You can also take a longer walk/run around Loch Venacher and the public path takes you through a lovely farm (Achray farm) where they sell ice cream and sorbet - you can drive there also. We used Callander as a base and had days out to the highlands and visited Glencoe, and also went to Loch Lomond, Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Visited in August. Be prepared for midges in abundance!!

    Historical place for a stop on your way to The Highlands. Good Crown Hotel with excellent continental breakfast for a reasonable price. Free parking all day close by behind the Crown Hotel on Glenartney Rd.

    The last town on the A84 before the Highlands.

    The last town on the A84 before the Highlands. You can feel the surrounding hills calling you North. Great for food, just stopping by the river, or a bit of shopping. One of the UK's great small towns.

    I love this part of the world. Nothing more to say.

    I love this part of the world. Nothing more to say. I've been coming to Callander for over 50 years and there's nowhere I would avoid. I would recommend The Waverley, The Crown, the taste of the Trossachs and the Mhor bread and store.

    Callander is a great base for the Trossachs.

    Callander is a great base for the Trossachs. We arrived by car but did not use our car when we were there. We hired bikes locally from Roll Outdoors, which was easy and we cycled to Strathyre, all on cycle paths. We went online to book a Loch Katrine cruise - Sir Walter Scott steamship - and cycle hire from Katrine Wheelz for the 14 miles Stronachlachar to Trossachs Pier return cycle. We used the local summer Trossachs Explorer bus service to travel to Loch Katrine and back. We enjoyed the Callander Treasure Trail on the Treasure Trails app and a walk to Bracklinn Falls and the Callander Crags. The two small supermarkets and local butcher were convenient and we enjoyed a lunch in the Atrium cafe and dinner at the Waverley Hotel - Greene King menu.

    Perfectly placed if you are exploring the southern part of the Highlands. Not too big, but loads of places to eat/drink. Surrounded by beautiful countryside. Not spoilt by big housing estates/industrial development - picturesque.

    We had a wonderful stay in Annfield House. David as the host was very kind and helpful during our stay. The house is very spacious, stylish, comfortable and very cozy with all the equipment needed. It also has a nice garden. The area nearby is very quiet and Callander is very nice town and a good base for trips. There are also many hiking places to go for nature lovers with spectacular views eveywhere. It was a great time and we would gladly return one day.

    We picked The Dreadnought because Callander was central to our plans for two nights . The hotel was a bit faded on the outside , but inside was interesting and clean. The staff were welcoming and friendly , as was everyone we met in the town. We hired some bikes and cycled to Killin along the old railway line over the viaduct at Glen Ogle , simply stunning ! Great service at Wheels Cycle hire as well . As far as price goes, it was great value for money .

    We went Self catering. Lovely peaceful tranqil location, ideal for a relaxing and unwinding, great area with lots of places to visit locally. Callander is a lovely place with ,friendly people. great location for dog owners as walks direct from lodge.Hosts Tom and Angela were welcoming, helpful and assured us to let them know if we needed anything.Totally enjoyed our stay , (good showewr , good bed ) and would highly reccomend Westmains Lodge.

    This was a lovely, comfortable and well equipped house with very nice, helpful owners who wanted us to have a great stay. The location was central and very convenient to see the area in and around Callander. There is a lovely and quiet back garden to chill out or hang out washing in, surprising given the town centre location and there was plenty of parking. We took James's advice on places to eat and it worked out really well. Thank you.

    Not the hotels fault but was very warm. There was a fan but it didn't help much. We were in one of the first rooms, quite noisy with people passing and singer was very loud. Won't stop us booking for next year, love Callander and always stay at the Crown
