FAQs about hotels in Hong Kong

Style Amidst the Skyscrapers

One of the world’s busiest and most populated cities, Hong Kong is best-known for its stunning skyline with over 1,200 skyscrapers and its “East meets West” cultural mix. With architecture and interior design influenced by feng shui and modern technology, this city is truly unique.

Hong Kong offers plenty of interesting city and thematic tours, ranging from cuisine-oriented, to architecture or nature. The latter is particularly fascinating as Hong Kong has many amazing mountain landscapes, marine parks and the Tian Tan Buddha on Lantau Island is only a ferry ride away.

Kowloon is a busy urban center near Victoria Harbor, where ferries are an excellent choice to see just how tall Hong Kong's buildings actually are. Excellent tax-free shopping can be found in high-class malls, boutiques and street markets.

Hong Kongs’ unique cultural fusion is clearly seen, tasted and heard in the local food, like dim sum from Maxim's Palace or hot pot from street vendors complimented local Cantopop music in the background.

Arriving at Hong Kong International Airport you’re only a short trip from the city center. Whether you’re staying in a chic hotel or a budget hostel, Booking.com has the perfect accommodation for a holiday in Hong Kong.

Unfortunately rained the entire time we was there, so didn't get out to most sites, but city streets and restaurants were fun to visit and observe, most people were friendly and helpful. Still a good amount of great English speakers, though not everywere.

People are really friendly the gallery n science museum are fantastic. Loved the harbour side promenade . Saddened there are soooooo many shops n restaurants that are common all over the world. Makes shopping boring. The famous Temple Street Markets long gone n looked desolate. Hong Kong has no identity of its own. Where's your individuality? Ya got little copies of bits and pieces of architecture, shops and franchise restaurants n cafes from all over the world. So what is Hong Kong? I still couldn't tell you.

The city is a bustling metropolis full of stores, restaurants, galleries, glorious old old trees line streets. It's remarkably clean and functional. I would like to be able to access gluten free cafes and restaurants but we did find that fun and an adventure in itself. The science museum is excellent and the gallery. OMG the accessibility of the city is impressive and the PEOPLE are soooo friendly courteous and helpful.

It was good as so many people spoke English and fairly easy to get round, but after living in China for past 4 months, the place didn't seem as clean or well organised, Still lots of shanty looking areas in between the luxury shops and apartments and people sleepingon the streets, which we don't see in China. The ferry trips are worth while and inexpensive and there's some great shopping malls and amazing walkways. It reminded me a bit about scenes from the movie 'Blade Runnr', as we were there during rainstorms and a passing typhoon.

It's just another big city easy to get around but didn't really appeal to me. I had spent many hours in the airport while transmitting in the past so thought we would have a look around. I found one or two places didn't want to entertain us because we didn't speak Chinese . Some taxi drivers were a little snappy . It's not as relaxing as Singapore or Kuala Lumpur and me personally I wouldn't go back.
