Rutland Water Courtyard Rooms, hotel in Oakham

Rutland Water Courtyard Rooms are located on Rutland Water Golf Course. A restaurant, an on-site bar and free WiFi is available. Free private parking is available on site.

Peaceful location, lovely courtyard room with everything needed, including a very comfortable bed. Fantastic breakfast and excellent evening meal on the day we chose to eat there. It was nice staying next to the bar - we could have a drink in the evening without worrying about who was going to drive. We're not golfers, but learned a bit about the sport while we were there! Also was great to be so close to the Nature Reserve and able to walk around Rutland Water.

The Fox and Hounds, hotel in Oakham

Located in Oakham, 29 miles from Leicester Train Station, The Fox and Hounds has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

Very convenient to find by car, tranquil setting and good off road parking. Spacious/well appointed room, very comfortable bed and an equally spacious bathroom. Quirky decor which suited our taste..Excellent food; for dinner we opted for Greek specialities for starters and mains. The chocolate pudding/mousse was thick set and wonderfully decadent! The full cooked breakfast was equally good.

I love the scenery, the wildlife, I'm a walker, so great walks, the town of oakham has everything u need, but what I like most is it's not commercialised, still a pretty little market town.i also used train & went to peterborough, the parking at the station was only £2.50 for the whole day. I had lunch one day at a lovely little cafe tucked in the corner of the market Square called Hungry Birds.

There are some pretty villages around in this area.

There are some pretty villages around in this area. Also, of course, Rutland Water is a great attraction, with walks, cycle rides and many water activities. Oakham itself has the remains of a castle with a tearoom.

I was worried by some of the reviews but I think that you get what you pay for and this is a value hotel. The location is gorgeous for a weekend stay, Rutland water views and activities are on your doorstep. We went out at dawn to see birds and bunnies then went out again later for a long walk. There’s also a park run that starts from the path outside the hotel on Saturday mornings. It’s an easy drive or cycle ride to Oakham and more restaurants and sights.

Great location, quiet, but central enough to access the town of Oakham and surrounding areas of Rutland and beyond. Beautiful cottage, comfortable, cozy and clean. Lovely welcoming hosts who have made the cottage feel more like a home. Definitely recommend staying here if anyone is thinking of visiting the area.

Fantastic view from the room and very comfortable bed. The hotel was very clean and the restaurant was nicely decorated, again making the most of the views. Rutland Water was very accessible for walks straight from the door. Nice decoration and great to have tea, coffee, water and bath robes in the room.

Lovely quiet location , within walking distance of shops, pubs and restaurants but also quiet walks. Lovely outside space to sit when the weather was nice and ample space for a family with growing teenagers to share. Well placed for Rutland Water but also ideally located to visit nearby cities and towns.

It was well worth the detour from the A1 to stay overnight in this lovely hotel. We had a very enjoyable meal in the restaurant and had a spacious room. There was an excellent breakfast buffet plus cooked options. Staff were welcoming and helpful. We would definitely return if in this area again.

The very kind chap from the restaurant next door. He was part of the hotel but it's an "unmanned" hotel, so I think he was covering for a manager (flood conditions in local area making travel difficult- that was my reason for having to book the hotel!)
