I was pleasantly surprised with how nice and clean everything was. The bed was very comfortable, and I love the little table and microwave so I could have my devotions with a simple breakfast. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the porch by the river, and the birds that come right up close sitting in the tree. Nice, quiet location, and no one bothers you. I will very likely stay here again in the near future.

We have stayed at this property a few times and found it adequate but this trip was very different. The mattress was really old, when I sat on the edge of the bed the mattress went all the way down to the box spring, the chair had a huge hole in the underside so when I sat down I felt ad though I was going to fall through, and the tub had horrible patches in it.

Whittier is between two great places in the mountains.
Whittier is between two great places in the mountains. The famous Cherokee with its casino is 10 minutes in one direction! In the other direction is a town that holds my heart Bryson City. Both have great family fun activities. Whittier itself has a quiet atmosphere for those who want to visit near by towns and come home to a quiet place. Wanted an overnight stay so we could go to the casino. This location provided exactly what we needed AND it's pet friendly which helped make the final decision. It provides a large "doggie" area to walk the pets. Lots of fast food restaurants directly across the street....most convenient. I wasn’t there for the location- there wasn’t much there to see. Probably not the place to go if you’re looking for entertainment. Hiking was even a bit hard to find. But it was away from the typical touristy mountain stuff and that was good.

Please note, this is a very small cabin with only a toilet, not a full bathroom. The people are great and so was the pool and playground. It was close to a lot of great things. I was not prepared for the lack of space for a five day trip with family.

Situated halfway between Dollywood and Biltmore, Whittier offers much for travelers. There is a Harrah’s there and Cherokee is close by too. Check out the Museum of the Cherokee Indian if you have time.GaryUnited States of America

Also very convenient for the actcivities we had planned near Cherokee and Bryson City. The house was clean, fresh, and well-equipped, and the appliances were pristine. We loved the way the owners had supplied photographs of places they loved (local and otherwise) on the walls, as if we were finding little helpful notes here and there. The bottle of wine on arrival was a marvelous idea that we really appreciated.
