FAQs about hotels in Buenos Aires

Tango for Your Senses

Cosmopolitan and trendy with South American essence and European charm, Buenos Aires represents the living image of tango: elegant yet passionate and nostalgic. Surrounding its harbor and vastly populated by immigrants from the Old Continent, it is a faithful image of Argentina’s typical ethnic patchwork.

The enormous relief of Evita’s face at 9 de Julio Avenue, La Boca's humble and colorful streets, the stylish buildings along Avenida de Mayo, or the modernly refurbished docks in Puerto Madero: Buenos Aires is an exciting and captivating city, full of history and full of stories.

Some of the finest Buenos Aires hotels are located near the Casa Rosada, in the Montserrat district. A few blocks south, you can find hotels in San Telmo mixing modern style and old-fashioned architecture.

Just outside the center in Recoleta, there are beautiful early 20th-century hotels, mansions and embassies surrounded by greenery. Palermo hotels include a vast array of apartments, hostels and small boutique accommodations.

After arriving at Ezeiza International Airport, enjoy the rhythm of Buenos Aires and its many cultural offerings, fashionable shopping streets, its huge variety of restaurants, and the busy nightlife.

BA is not worth a long stay.

BA is not worth a long stay. Just one or two days where you can walk around Caminito and San Telmo and experience the local market. All the other neighborhoods are not really worth a visit. Palermo, which is supposed to be the fancy upscale neighborhood, is nothing to write home about. In San Telmo you can enjoy Plaza de Mayo and Casa Rosada and the walk of the estorietas. In one day you can do both San Telmo and Caminito. I went to the Recoleta Cemetery where Eva Duarte is buried. It costs 15 euros just for the entrance: no sign is dispalying the cost, they just ask you for a credit card. The cemetery is totally NOT worth the visit. It is rundown. Eva's tomb is a total disappointment compared to the other tombs and all in general it is nothing special and definitely not worth 15 euros. The place is not well maintened so all the tiles on the pavement are moving so if you walk looking at the tombs you risk falling or tumbling. Save your money and the governament of BA should invest some of the money it asks for the entrance (again a total rip-off) to clean and maintain the cemetery. Another horrible thing was the people taking selfies and smiling with the V sign like this was not a religios place worth some respect!

A city for all tastes and types of activities.

A city for all tastes and types of activities. There are art museums with works by famous artists, history museums, tango shows in theaters and on the street, plays, food, many cafes to take a break, many bookstores, places to visit—in short, a city that never sleeps. Best of all, as a tourist, you feel safe. There are many options for getting around: metro, buses, taxis, etc., and all of them at a good price.

City is just booming, even on winter time, too many brazilians but that is easy to go around if you go off track from the main touristic spots, overall you get a great value for dollars and euros when coming over when it comes to food, drinks and entertaiment, not really sure about shopping or electronics if that is the focus. Highly reccomend open events, such as the tuesdays/thursdays movie nights at the National Congress Library. For Japanese food lovers, there are a few spots at the city centre where you can get all you can eat cold dishes buffet/a la carte for under 30U$, also do make sure you enjoy the local brewery scene along with promotional prices on national wines and the traditional bitters porteños much fancy.

BA is a very cosmopolitan city with many things to see and do. Not as cheap as I was told it would be. Many of the well known tourist attractions charge a bit too much just to get in. Don't bother exchanging money just put it on your CC. Great to get around using the Subte, uber, or just walking as sidewalks are in good condition. Some have said the BA is dangerous to cross the street. Ignore them if you're already accustomed to look before your cross but if you're someone who walks around with your face burried in your phone make sure you have travel insurance and your will is up to date. Dress like the locals to avoid getting harassed by beggars (think Italian or New Yorker / all black).

This is a lovely boutique hotel in an excellent location in Palermo, Buenos Aires. It's on a relatively quiet street close to restaurants and parks. the hotel has some very comfortable spaces--large lobby/library area, a small outdoor courtyard, and a small rooftop pool and sitting area---so there are a number of areas to relax when you are out of your room. Nice sit down included "served-breakfast" rather than a buffet. Best of all were the staff---they could not be more service oriented!

Lovely compact studio apartment right in the hearth of beautiful Recoleta. Centre, Palermo and Recoleta are all walkable. Nice variety of good local restaurants and plenty of shopping opportunities. Great value for money. Host was very adaptable and allowed me check out late on my last day as there was nobody arriving. Really convenient for Jorge Newbury airport (15 minutes).
