Knaj is a lovely place, a recent and small gated community in the jungle, about half a mile inland from the Tulum - Playa del Carmen highway. The community includes a beautiful private cenote right in its center, where one can take a dip or relax on a wooden deck, by the water. A magical experience… the houses have cool architectural design. We stayed for two nights, first in “La Cruz”, a small house made of 4 steel and glass bungalows separated by a “cross-shaped” pond, on the far corner of the site, quiet and under the cover of the jungle. The second night was in a large 3-bedroom house at the entrance, beautifully decorated, and like all others, very recently built. The most spectacular spot is a “treehouse” up in the canopy and close to the Cenote. We might try that one next time!

The swim up pool is amazing and the food is exceptionally good but that does come at a high price. The beach is perfect for exploring and looking for shells and the pier makes it ideal to get into the water without navigating the rocks!

It is a beautiful property set in the jungle. A small boutique hotel with an attentive staff (shout out to Pablo) and a restaurant on site.
