FAQs about hotels in Prague

Discover the Magic of Prague

The Czech capital is nothing short of magical, with Prague’s countless bridges, cathedrals, domes and castles reflected in the Vltava River. Thankfully, the city escaped most of WWII’s destruction, leaving the rich history and fairytale facade of this Bohemian city intact.

Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle complex in the world and the St. Vitus Cathedral is a stunning example of Gothic architecture. The Cathedral’s lookout tower rewards those willing to climb 300 steps with the best view of the city.

Walking through the cobblestone streets of the Mala Strana district will bring you to the Charles Bridge. Prague’s beautiful 14th-century monument buzzes with musicians and local crafts sales. The Astronomical Clock, Tyn Church, and Storch building of Old Town compete for popularity with the neoclassical Estate Theatre and the Czech National Museum.

The cafes and restaurants of Wenceslas Square are great for people watching and the Franz Kafka house, the Old New Synagogue and Frank Gehry’s Dancing House are perfect for soaking up history.

Flights arriving at Vaclav Havel International Airport will be in the city center after a short subway ride. For historic hotels, cheap hostels or charming apartments head to Booking.com for nearly 700 accommodations in Prague.

Prague is absolutely beautiful — the most medieval city I’ve seen so far in Europe. It’s definitely worth a trip! My fiancée and I were so happy to visit, and we really enjoyed the medieval vibe, the amazing food, and the lively bars.

Prague has so much to see - you can leave out the major sites like Prague Castle (long queues and crowds( yet still experience some of he finest buildings anywhere. Don't forget the less obvious things such as travelling by tram or the boat that crosses the river at Vysehrad,

Great old town and deep dive into the history of the.Bohemian kings and heritage. However, sightseeing has become terribly expensive: Adult plus child pay 32 euros for the Jewish quarter and 50 euros for Prague castle (mainly churches! plus castle hall and tower). The Prague municipality wishes to reach Paris or New York price levels?

Be careful when shopping in the mini supermarkets..

Be careful when shopping in the mini supermarkets.. Items are not priced clearly or deceptively, for example when buying fruit, you see a punnet with a listed price, then when you get your bill you find that it's for 100gms... And once bought they will not give you back the money... once bought its yours and that's final... You will find mixed drinks and one can in the group may be 10 times the price of the rest... same result... So 8 cans of beer.... 50 Euros Fruit... strawberries, plums, black and red currant, a dragon fruit... 75 Euros The city is clean and well maintained... but very busy... and you get the feeling that the inhabitants are tourist tired... Staff is professional but smiles don't reach their eyes... We went to Prague to sample their lager but there did not seem to be such a selection... just that pilsner Urquelle with it's weird aftertaste... They should take a lesson in beer marketing from the Belgians..

A very beautiful, historic city, with amazing things to see...

A very beautiful, historic city, with amazing things to see and do. However, as with many European cities, it suffers from over-tourism (I know, I know, we're part of the problem) and all that comes with it. We were overcharged for lots of things. You get hassled to tip (all the time!) for what I am sorry to say was the worst service I have ever experienced in any city. Just about every place we went to came with a rude experience, e.g. we were often ignored/ no order taken/no acknowledgment of our existence, and had to leave so many places because of this. Many of the locals/service folks were outright hostile, or just disinterested and grumpy towards foreigners. We were shouted at a few times for very silly things. There is also clearly a big drug problem in the centre, so watch out for that. Oh and all the scammers that offer to break your notes with fake money or redundant currencies. DO NOT GO TO THE MONEY EXCHANGES. They rip you off with ridiculous rates. Far too many people to make things enjoyable. I think Prague is probably best to visit outside of summer, when it is a bit quieter and you get more of the locals, rather than the entire world. Don't bother with trams and trains, if you are fit and up for walking. It is a great city for walking around, and everything is within an hours walk more or less.

A short tram ride from the main train station, right in the heart of the central tourist area. Surrounded by great shops and restaurants. An easy walk to both Wenceslas Square and the Old Town Square. A very friendly and helpful front desk. A very good breakfast buffet with lots of options. The room was large and the bathroom looked recently updated. This particular room was not in the main hotel, but out in a separate building with one other guest room. It turned out to be an ideal and very quiet location.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Assenzio in Prague! While the room was a little smaller than we expected, it was still perfectly comfortable for a family of two. The beds were fantastic — so cozy and supportive — and the room itself was spotless, warm, and very inviting. We especially appreciated how central the location was, with easy access to public transport that quickly takes you to Old Town Square and the city centre. Overall, a very comfortable and convenient stay. We would definitely recommend it!

I really enjoyed my 3-night stay here. My room was a good size 'single', more like a double, bed was comfy and there was a bath with a shower. The bath was a luxury! The hotel is well located, a short walk to the Old Town Square, and 15 minutes to the Charles Bridge. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was very good, a good selection of cereal, hot dishes and breads and rolls. Lots of places to eat nearby. Would totally recommend Betlam Club Hotel as a place to stay.

Rooms were nice and clean though a bit small in size. Its more of a no frills hotel and doesn't have all the different facilities. Its walkable (~1.2 kms) from the Old Town Square and around. We have trams and trains nearby too. Breakfast is not extensive, but has a good spread.
