* It was a lovely stay in a heritage listed building with a great hospitality. We experienced the dialogue within art nouveau, art deco, modern features. We loved the beautiful reception area and burgundy stairs. * The reception team was very kind and welcoming. We were expecting a courier to the reception. They have taken the note and placed the package in the room after our arrival. * The room amenities were high quality and refilled rapidly. Thank you for the fresh water, also for coffee, tea & soft drinks. * Great thanks to the housekeeping! They were really good at what they are doing. Appreciated!🙏🏾 * The breakfast was nicely prepared with fresh & quality ingredients. The breakfast staff was very organized, polite and welcoming. They were making the breakfast experience smooth in every way.

The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood with a huge parking lot and perfect connection to the public transport of Hamburg. It takes only a few minutes with the bus to the next train station and only 45 Minutes to reach the city center. The Spa offerings are a delight. For us the breakfast was our personal highlight of the day. The selection is phenomenal and the staff acts attentive and discreet. We loved our stay.

FAQs about hotels in Hamburg

The Real Venice of the North

With more canals than Amsterdam and Venice combined and over 2,300 bridges, Hamburg is an independent city-state with Europe’s second-busiest port and one of Germany's most popular soccer teams, Hamburg SV.

No trip to Hamburg is complete without a visit to the city’s old warehouse district, Speicherstadt, and the popular harbor promenade, the Landungsbrücken. The best and most popular way to explore the city is by boat or ferry so you can truly admire the stunning architecture and the city’s waterways.

The impressive City Hall and the popular St. Michaelis church will awe any visitor, and music fans should look for the Indra and the Star Club, where the Beatles played between 1960 and 1962. For a different look at Hamburg, moonlit strolls on the Reeperbahn will bring visitors through the largest red light district in Europe. Hamburg is famous for its local dishes, Birnen, Bohnen and Speck, Aalsuppe and open-faced sandwiches with cold-smoked or pickled fish. The laid-back cafés of Schanze neighborhood and barbecues on a beach along the Elbe River are great ways to relax after a day of sightseeing.

The city center is accessible from Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel Airport and Hamburg-Lübeck Airport using either train or bus services. Whether you’re looking for a luxury hotel, traditional apartment or youth hostel, Booking.com has everything you need for a vacation in Hamburg.

Hamburg felt like a capital city – vibrant, full of history and life. I loved the unique bunker with its greenery on top, such an inspiring reuse of history, and the market in Eppendorf with its fantastic atmosphere and beautiful villas nearby.

What's not to love about Hamburg when it offers a harbour,...

What's not to love about Hamburg when it offers a harbour, lakes, canals and many green parks, look carefully and you can find beaches and also a beach bar! Travel, Train's and bus are easy to hop on and off with cheap prices, especially compared to other city's like London! The day ticket for trains includes bus travel and is €7.80 for 1 person, a group ticket for 5 people is €15.60 and allows 5 people to travel as a group. Download the HHV app and book via that and the costs are even cheaper. The city is welcoming with a friendly vibe and an excellent nightlife. Great bars and restaurants that cover all price ranges. Whether your tastes are Opera, Theatre or Live music in big and small venues, architecture, history, churches and museums, Hamburg has it all offer. No visit is complete unless you take in the miniatur wunderland! "Hamburg, meine Perle"

There's a lot to be discovered there!

There's a lot to be discovered there! I walked most of the city on my way to the cruise terminal. However, the last part was too complicated and I gave up and took a taxi. On my return trip, the bus system was unusable for me as I had no way to pay for it on the spot...at least according to the other people from the city. There needs to be a way for a nonresident to easily pay without having to use apps and the internet. I had no internet so I was forced to use cabs on my two journeys.

I selected my hotel right across from the train station for convenience. So therefore, it was busy out front and also rather noisy at night. The hotel and my room were spotlessly clean. And the hotel is close to other amenities.

    I know Hamburg very well.

I know Hamburg very well. However, there are always new things to discover, and travelling by public transport is super easy. You can buy day tickets for the whole HVV network - excellent value especially for families and groups of 5. A must for everyone new to he city is a visit to the harbour - Maybe do a boat tour around the harbour & visit the new landmark, the 'Elbphilharmonie' (Elfi). I did the plaza tour which was very interesting. Amongst the old warehouses (UNESCO heritage) you also find 'Miniature Wunderland' - the biggest model railway exhibition in the world. It is well worth a visit, even for non-railway enthusiasts, but plan in enough time and book ahead if you can. Take a ferry from Landungsbruecken down the river Elbe to the museum's harbour in Oevelgoenne and go for a walk along the beach. Visit the Alster near the town hall and enjoy a drink and a meal at the Alsterpavillion whilst watching the boats on the water. This is also a good area for shopping. You can also plan visits to the fish market (if you are an early riser), the Reeperbahn (famous red light district), the zoo, the botanical gardens with tv tower (Planten und Blomen), central park with the observatory. These are just some of my favourite places. Enjoy!

The staff were welcoming and the check in / check out process could all be done online so was very easy. The room was bright and clean, the bed was large and comfortable which is all we really care about in a hotel. It was well located for an event we were attending and easy to access the centre of Hamburg. We found the hotel to be quiet as far as other residents, you can hear sirens on the main road which isn't a suprise as there's a hospital on the road behind the hotel.

Booked at last minute for a very good price for two people. Staff available at all hours and helpful, and hotel is flexible for extending stays. Great areas to work in during the day with coffee and tea available (after breakfast) and easy access to city centre Hamburg with a very central location (i.e. 10-15 minutes from central station).

This is a standard 3-star hotel very close to the train station and bus terminal at walking distance from all tourist attractions (ware houses, opera building, miniature world, harbour). No complaints. We had a small, quiet room in back of hotel. Not too cheap, but hotel rates in Hamburg around Christmas are higher.
