Location to town was about a 10 minute walk. The view out our room was breathtaking as you could see the river Avon and the spire on Salisbury Cathedral.

Because of low rating (7.2) we hesitated but am so glad we did do it! This place is a 9!! The receptionist was so sweet (a true asset) and helped us with several things! Beautiful open door with patio furniture, beautiful room with fantastic new bathroom. The meal was to die for!!! Fanciest place we’ve ever stayed! Wow!

The city is busy with a nice atmosphere. There are lots of shops and eateries. We tried the Mexican, "Tinga", which was really good. The Cathedral is well worth a visit, to see the scale of it as well as the Magna Carta. We also visited Arundells, Ted Heath's former home, which was really interesting.

Salisbury is a very good location for a holiday in the UK.
Salisbury is a very good location for a holiday in the UK. Within the immediate area of the city there is an impressive cathedral (which houses a copy of Magna Carta) and the ruins of Old Sarum. A little further afield, there is the famous Stonehenge World Heritage Site which is very much worth a visit.
The city itself is easy to get around - much of it is walkable and there is a good bus service.
Due to its rail links, Salisbury can also be used as a base for exploring the wider area. Regular trains run to locations throughout Wiltshire, Dorset and Hampshire.

St Thomas Becketts Church was a wonderful surprise with the late 15thc paintings.
The walking tour of Salisbury with a registered guide was excellent and i would definitely recommend it.
The docents in the cathedral were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. More importantly you could ask any question of them and they would endeavour to answer it.

It is a town full of interest - museums, The Cathedral and close, Montpesson House and many more. It has a wide range of shops, cafes and interesting old buildings, full of history. It is easy to walk round. We especially enjoy Elizabeth Gardens and the water meadows to Harnham.
The centre is so busy, best taken in small doses. The market square is important to see, especially on market day - and a new department store.

Everthing is within walking distance shops, cathedral etc and there are plenty of places to eat. Furthermore, as this is an old medieval town there are lots of pubs ! so plenty of choice of breweries and food ! Its also based on a grid system so very easy to navigate your way around.
We did find that the independant shops, market etc are NOT open on Sundays so if you are coming for shopping make sure you come Monday to Saturday or you will be disappointed !
Our host said when the sun shines Salisbury is the best place to be and with a choice of over 5 rivers you could walk along bathed in sunshine I would agree !

Beautiful city. Amazing old streets and buildings.
Beautiful city. Amazing old streets and buildings. Small enough to explore on foot. Plenty of places to enjoy food and drink. The Cathedral is stunning. Plenty of independent shops. Nice green open spaces. Lovely for a couple of days.
Location was fine. Hotel and room were fine until in the morning the shower only produced scalding hot water. No one’s fault. Receptionist was very responsive and moved us to another room. Just inconvenient to repack and decamp in our pyjamas!
Both rooms very clean. Staff helpful and polite. Quite an expensive overnight stay with parking on site an extra cost.
Beautiful pub in the city centre (close to market square and cathedral) with excellent breakfast and very delicious, very tasty dinner meals! Room (3-bed room) was extremely spacious including a huge bathroom (bigger than a standard hotel room) with bathtube and seperate shower. very friendly staff. Much better than expected! We really enjoyed it.
the food is excellent. We got some sparerips there and a ribeye and I think both where the best we ever had to now and the pricing is really fair. The place is perfectly located near the cathedral and town center. The hotel is a lovely place, but we could not really sleep well due to the worn out mattresses.
Pear tree Hotel is the perfect location for a base in Salisbury. Close to all the city centre amenities and perfect for train station. Car parking was good, facilities were clean, with food on arrival a bonus. Staff were excellent with help for printing documents and advice on eating out etc
We booked room only and the room has just been refurbished and was in excellent condition. The location was perfect for our needs being near the center of town. The rest of the hotel is still being refurbished so that was fine with us as we were out and about locally.
Excellent, recently refitted room which was spacious, fresh and conformable. Good bathroom facilities. Lots of space for clothes too.
Great location and with plenty of parking which is a major plus for a citt centre hotel
And staff welcoming and helpful
Good location close to train station. Small hotel, only 8 rooms. Easy walk into Salisbury city centre. Breakfast excellent.
Staff helpful, looked after our baggage as we arrived early and transferred our cases to the room when it was ready.
Amazing!! We love our stay! The room was comfortable and the staff super friendly. Charlie gave us a lot of good recommendations. The hotel is very close to one of the Stonehenge bus stops, supermarkets and the main square of Salisbury.
Staff helpful when bathroom radiator failed, extra heating provided. Room was comfortable and quiet for good sleeping.
Hotel was conveniently near the city centre and also midway between the railway station and the cathedral.
Breakfast was simply superb - lots of choice and the cooking was first class
Great location - 5min walk to city centre and shops
10 out of 10 for cleanness super duper
Comfort was as high as you get in any 6 star hotel
Bed was super comfortable and spacious. Bed was excellent. Helen, our host, was super friendly and directed us to an excellent restaurant off the beaten path. Loved that it was close to but out of the chaos of Salisbury.
The location was fabulous right by the river with a beautiful 15 min walk to the city centre. The breakfast was very tasty with various options.. the hotel is a gem and full of character with wonderful views and scenery.
The location was excellent for what I wanted. The hotel was quiet but close to the city centre. The view at the back of the property was delightful, and the room clean and functional.
