My room was beautiful. It was clean and well stocked. The pool, gym , jacuzzi and sauna were lovely.
The staff were polite and friendly. I always felt that had there been an issue I could have raised it and it would have been dealt with. There were no issues.
Everything worked perfectly.

A departure point for Isle of Wight ferries and grand cruise liners including the Queen Mary 2, Southampton is understandably centered around its port. But even if you’re passing through, the city has more than enough to make you want to stay awhile. The Hythe Ferry from the port passes Netley, site of a ruined abbey, and ends at Hythe Pier, home to the world’s oldest pier train.
There is much older history in the city center where the 15th-century city walls are amongs the most complete in England. Also remaining is the medieval Bargate gatehouse.
Just behind is the Bargate Shopping Center, while main street stores in the city center and West Quay are other Southampton shopping choices. As for entertainment, the city has great theaters, and Oxford Street has the best bars and restaurants. All are easily reached from the apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Southampton available on Booking.com.
There is also a surprising amount of green space in the city and its central parks is a historic site. Slightly further out is Southampton Common, whose Urban Wildlife Centre is worth a visit.
If you’re flying out of Southampton Airport, don’t leave without having visited the Maritime Museum or Archaeology Museum, both detailing the history of this long-established city.
What can I say about Southampton that is fair and isn't...
What can I say about Southampton that is fair and isn't something someone from nearby Portsmouth would say? I think it's almost a 'ghost town' but one where the ghosts are probably moving out. It has no character, no style, idiotic parking, traffic control systems, very little of note apart from some very nice Tudor buildings (so it might not have had a lick of paint in a few hundred years) and a few overpriced, glossy buildings that are 'modern' (see no character, etc).
It's on the South Coast so the weather can be good but it doesn't really have a beach. The people range from the ok to rather a lot of snooty, nose in the air types. I didn't like a lot of them, some were great.
Its main trade is the port: goods coming in and people going out. I'm a person, so I'm out.

This was my second stay in Southampton and I have enjoyed it both times. There is plenty to see with the museums and galleries. The food options are very good with lots of restaurants and bars to choose from. I really liked all the parks and open spaces. Taxis are easy to get and you can also pre book which is what we did to get back and forth to the cruise terminal. We traveled in and out of Southampton airport and it is a great airport as it is small and friendly and probably nicest airport experience I have ever had.

The Pub across the road does not serve food.
The Pub across the road does not serve food. There are several places to eat roughly 1 mile away, a 15 minute walk. The Mayflower Village Pub served excellent meals and drinks. Ristorante Italiano also served very good Italian food. There is a Subway close by that is open for breakfast. We Ubered from the bus station and to the cruise terminal.

Very close to cruise terminals.
Very close to cruise terminals. Large shops like Matalan ( never seen one so large with everything you'd need). Mamas & papas. Close to many eateries like TGI Fridays/5 guys/las iguanas/ Brazilian & mexican.
Breakfast was OK. Arrived very early plane into Southampton arrives 8am . Ask if possible to get early check in. No room available until 1 pm. Surely this is not a fact A. Hotel would not have been full. B. Early check outs rooms would have been available from 10 am at latest. C. Family members have worked in your hotel chain so know this is true. When you have been up all night sitting around reception for 5hours is NOT FUN
The hotel is in a very good position for visiting the theatre in Southampton, whilst being in a very quiet and secluded place. The room was a good size, with a bath rather than just a shower. The breakfast offering, again went above and beyond, with an exceptional choice, and very good quality. The gentleman overseeing the breakfast room was delightful. At the price, this hotel would be very hard to beat.
Was a lovely hotel. Lots of parking. Didn't use the leisure facilities as only stayed Saturday night after going to the theatre in Southampton. We arrived early and they let us leave our car and called a taxi for us to go into town. The staff are lovely. Had a lovely comfy king size bed. We chose this hotel because it has a restaurant. We had a lovely meal but is a bit expensive
A charming traditional Edwardian hotel. Very clean and in a good location in Southampton. The bathroom was roomy and had updated fixtures.the hotel is a short taxi ride to both the train station and cruise port and a short bus ride to Westquay shopping centre. The traditional English breakfast was very good as was the food in the on-site pub/ bar.
The start is a very old hotel and has its quirks however the room was a good size twin with aircon, a full size bath and shower and TV.. the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good value for money. Perfect location of Southampton City centre, the IOW ferry and the cruise port.. not far from the train station 5 minutes in a taxi..
Great location. I stayed here for a cruise departure the next morning. Hotel is a very quick walk from the train station - and the cruise terminal was a cheap taxi journey.
Room was a decent size. Convenient refrigerator in room. Separate bathroom and toilet room will be a benefit for some.
Staff were friendly when I arrived.
We booked this room in February (for a September stay) as the boat show was in town and we had a hard time finding a room. Location was good. Restaurant downstairs was extremely helpful allowing us to stash luggage. We had dinner down there as well and the food was exceptional.
Hotel was in a good location next to the motorway, with a 10 minutes drive into the city centre or to the University of Southampton. Clean and well maintained hotel with plenty of free parking. Excellent and friendly staff who made you feel welcome. Would recommend.
I did not have breakfast at Moxy Southampton so can not comment here. The location was ideal as the hotel is right next to the station and city centre and has very good transport links in its vicinity. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Hotel well located for easy access to the train station. Bed very comfortable. Great views of the docked cruise ships from level 3.Good to have a window that was openable for fresh air. Staff are very friendly and efficient.
This is a new hotel, much needed in Southampton. It is close to the medieval section and a wide variety of shopping and restaurant venues. The staff was very helpful.
Hotel great location both for a night out in Southampton and cruise terminals. Always found the hotel met our expectations. Clean good rooms and hearty breakfast.
Well placed near the central station and Southampton's town centre. Nice view of the port. It is ideal for a short staying. Hotel staff was kind and helpfull
Quiet setting, beautiful building with a lovely center hall bar. Bed was very comfortable. Staff are nice. Good parking. Close to Southampton attractions
