Ryde is an historic town with many interesting buildings.

Ryde is an historic town with many interesting buildings. An amazing and unusual pier allowing both cars, train and pedestrian access to the end without being bombarded by gaming machines etc. Wide selection of shops. The main High St. is part pedestrianised but a timed closure of the rest to the seafront would improve the shopping experience and safety. If time permits walk around some of the back streets. There are many amazing residential properties and some interesting architecture.

    Ryde is very nice.

Ryde is very nice. Not much to do but there is transport to other places. Some of the public houses on the sea front are abit rough. Nice coffee shop in high Street the wonky goat and a nice B & B called the boat house near puckpool park. It has a bowling ally which was good. In the high street it is good because most of the shops are independent and not part of a chain.

Been to Ryde before. Was using it more as a base. High Street not bad. Unlike some high streets these days it doesn't look run down. Charity shops, cafes restaurants. A few high street stores. Bars and restaurants on the esplanade. Beach mix of sand and shingle.

We used to live in Ryde so are familiar with what is available. The Ryde Castle is a great venue. Sea views are amazing. Plenty of things to see and do in the area. 10 pin bowling just over the road and a harbour and huge sandy beach. Large breakfast meals available. Very tasty. Taxi rank nearby if you wish to explore the Island. Catamaran ferry from Portsmouth or Hovercraft from Southsea. Both to Ryde promenade.

The hotel is situated in a fantastic seafront location, ideal for exploring the town. The rooms were bright and airy with neutral decor. The bed was a standard double with a soft mattress. Access to kitchen and dining area facilities were a Godsend in the hot weather, as we could cool our water, and had space to relax. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room were very generous. An old building so big rooms and large windows made it feel very spacious. The hotel was well cleaned whilst we were there.

Loved the upgrade of room from Toby-Thank you! Lovely room and touches like toiletries and biscuits in the room. The housekeeping staff even made the bed and topped up my tea/coffee while I was out.Reception very helpful too Great central location for Ryde and the bar next door which is owned by Yelfs is a nice change from the chain pubs. The hotel lounge is nice to sit and have lunch. Give this hotel a try instead of the branded hotels and you will be glad you did.
