Location was amazing. Lovely old building with wonderful views. Very comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean.
I have to mention Tracy, who seemed to take on every customer facing role and was there morning, noon and night

We visited this hotel as we were going to Alton towers and it's really close.
I have visited before and absolutely love this hotel.
All the staff are helpful and very polite. During check in I was told we had a free upgrade to the bakeell room and it was absolutely beautiful. The views outside the room were lovely and the room was large and very clean. Can't wait to visit again.

Really cool old castle-like building. Surrounding is very quite and well prepared.

Small cute place. Great genuinely Gluten Free and affordable Thai Restaurant in the center called 'Thai Basement' (01335 300305). Cute cellar based restaurant. Don't let the tiny door leading down to it put you off, it's a gem!

Lovely, charming little town, St.
Lovely, charming little town, St. Oswald's church is amazing to visit. The little Historical Centre is also a must to learn about the Ashbourne Shrovetide Football, and the Memorial Park was lovely too.
Easy access to the Tissington Trail is from the centre of Ashbourne, but sadly a substantial length of it was closed for our visit due to Ash Tree felling. This is due to continue well into December.
Short drive to Dovedale NT Nature reserve, but the river was in quite a full spate due to the recent rain so access to the Stepping Stones were limited. Ilam Park was a good alternative place to visit however.
We had an Anniversary meal at The Lamplight which was exceptionally good, and we had excellent lunches at Jack Rabbit's and Beaumont's.
We also had a couple of beers in the lovely Queen's Vaults which is a very cosy Craft Beer bar, as well as an excellent pint of Draught Bass in the Wheel Inn, where we were welcomed by the very friendly locals.

Lovely village.
Lovely village. Lots of pubs, restaurants, shops and places to walk.
Very friendly people who are happy to stop and chat with you. Excellent location for Alton Towers - 20 minutes away.
Very good bike hire for short or longer rides. Tissington is a safe journey along the Tissington trail.
Have been here three times and still find new things to do.
Easy to find different cultures of food - Chinese, Indian, British, etc..
Looking forward to returning next year.

Nice reasonable places to eat.
Nice reasonable places to eat. Road through is very busy and noisy with constant traffic. mostly lorries, in both directions.
People were very friendly. We were a bit disappointed that so many businesses have closed since our last visit and there are many empty shops/cafe's etc. A sign of the times I expect. I would visit again for an afternoon, but I don't think we would stay overnight again.

we stayed in Sandybrook holliday park for 8 days and 1 night in de George and Dragon pub wonderfull..Ashbourne is a perfect start for nature walks and biking. the Keslerton castle is beautifull location 30 minutes drive.,Adam architect. parking back the COOP market in centre city for long stay.
The location of the Lilacs was just right to give access to the Peak District and the popular towns in the vicinity.
The room was very pleasant and the bathroom was very roomy.
The breakfasts were excellent and gave you a good start for the day.
Car parking at the Lilacs was good, albeit you had to take care getting out out onto the main road.
Local eateries were so handy you didn't need to go into the nearest town (Ashbourne) to find good food, although there were probably good restaurants/pubs to frequent if you so wish.
The cottage was absolutely amazing, so peaceful and tranquil! Did not want to leave, we were lucky to get some sunshine during our stay, the views were phenomenal. Loved the fact that it was self catering, all kitchen equipment was available- the whole ambience of the place just felt like home :) would defo visit again
The drive to Peak District National park was around 30 mins and Carsington Waters was a walkable distance.
the nearest town is Ashbourne, which has a little retail park for any necessities as well as an Aldi
Really comfortable room and amazing staff super duper friendly. The breakfast was absolutely amazing!
Hubby had the full English and I had the vegetarian both amazing.
We visit every year for Alton towers scarefest but normally stay at another hotel but they were booked up. You guys came up and did not disappoint would happily stay with you guys again next year. Hubby is still raving about the breakfast (oatcakes in particular we don't have them in our area)
Fantastic location too 👏 well priced considering room size etc.
Well supplied with kitchen equipment, utensils and condiments, nicely decorated and furnished, and a good, central location for visiting Ashbourne (which has some good pubs and restaurants, also a historic church). The lounge/dining/kitchen area was spacious, and the bathroom had a good shower, so our needs were well met. The apartment seemed to be well sound-proofed as we hardly noticed the traffic outside. Although the car park couldn't be accessed directly from Madge House, it was secure and safe.
We had a lovely, relaxing stay. It was so peaceful and although the other two roundhouses were very close by they were secluded from view so you wouldn’t know they were there. The roundhouse was clean and had a lot of little extra touches like blankets for sitting outside on a chilly evening and fresh milk, eggs and sourdough bread left for us to enjoy. There were plenty of tea bags and coffee pods for the whole of our stay too. We walked into Ashbourne for something to eat and it wasn’t far.

The breakfast was nicely cooked and very tasty. The room was very quiet at night when the traffic had reduced. The proximity to Ashbourne was good thought turning right out of the drive towards Ashbourne could be challenging at peak times. The property has pleasant views to the rear and a pretty garden. The parking space is adequate for two rooms
Location is perfect with the village shop and pub both about a 2 min walk. Lovely church in village where Robin Hood married maid Marian. Cottage was amazing, full of character and a huge private garden. You can walk to uttoxeter in 20 mins and easy access to the beautiful Derbyshire dales and Peak District. Just fantastic time had by all
Was a lovely property and excellent food at the George and Dragon. Rooms (although a little dated) were cosy and clean with toiletries, clean and comfy bed and linen, fresh towels and tea/coffee/biscuits included. Excellent value for money and a great location in the heart of Ashbourne with easy access to many lovely quaint towns nearby.
Very welcoming - lovely gentleman who showed us around and took us to our room, carrying our bags. Loved the eco and sustainability ethos of the hotel. Wonderful open fire in the check in area. Complimentary chocs went down well too. Beautifully decorated and great location. Lots of lovely welcoming touches.
We had a fabulous weekend in this lovely house. Very well equipped, spotlessly clean, great location for Ashbourne (easily walkable and supermarket close) and easy to get into the Peak District for great walking in the White Peak particularly. We very much enjoyed out stay thank you
The Cottage was clean and well equipped. It was a reasonable walk from the center of Ashbourne. The neighborhood was quiet and there were nice views from the back of the house. Milk and teabags were left for us which was nice. Also some chocolate in the fridge!
Loved the stay. Hosts were very responsive and when we wanted to extend the stay by a day, they gave us a great rate as well. Will surely return to this property whenever I am visiting Peak District.
Quiet and relaxing. Easy access to Ashbourne and the surrounding area. Great base from which to walk from and to use as our base. Hope View was clean, tidy and well kept.
Pods were immaculate and perfect for somewhere quirky to stay , site was clean and tidy and staff pleasant, good location for exploring the peak district
