4 decent rooms, 2 bathrooms. All worked OK. Liked the proximity to walks, river, pubs, cafes, restauranmts of Matlock Bath. Also excellent bus and train links to nearby towns.

lovely setting: river, hills and chair lift. Good pubs, fish shops and easy to get to. Stellar history down the road at Cromford Mills. Well worth a morning visit to gain understanding of our industrial heritage.

Good Town situated on lovely river and beautiful countryside surrounding. Friendly people who were very accommodating and helpful. Parking not brilliant but everywhere has this problem these days, shop in Sainsbury’s then you can park there. We would visit again as enjoyed our time there. Had lovely lunch at one of the Lounges chain. Sadly The Tipsy Toad didn’t serve food, but looked a great place beside the river for drinks.

Amazing base for a holiday.
Amazing base for a holiday. I flew into Manchester, called into Lyme hall as you pass it, there's little brown signs to follow everywhere.
Pass through Ashford and Bakewell, stunning.
Matlock is larger, every amenity, beautiful park, great shops. There's a lovely river up to the Tor walk with amazing views. I couldve stayed longer...

The scenery around Matlock is gorgeous - I would have liked to have explored it further if I had more time. This was a short, intense work trip so I didn't do as much as I would have liked. Matlock as a town looks very pretty but everything shuts, it seems, by 5pm, so it was like a ghost town when I made my way into the centre. Some bars/restaurants were open but they were also quiet. The walk along the river Derwent is lovely, and I enjoyed it after a day spent indoors. I think Matlock is a good base to explore the surrounding countryside but the town itself doesn't have that much to see, unless I missed it all because it was shut!

Matlock has developed into a very nice tourist site with lots to see and do. If you like fish and chips you have a choice of 8 venues all serving good quality food. The river and gardens running through the town provide a nice place to rest and relax. The heights of Abraham are of course the main reason for visiting but all around there are things to do and see.

Everything is within walking distance, there is so much to discover. We even saw a Kingfisher swooping along the river! The person hiring the boats had caught a crayfish! which was another unexpected interesting sight. I love Matlock Bath and usually visit every other year. There is a mining museum in the Pavilion, an unusual Aquarium on the parade and a theme park behind the village. Boating on the river is either a trip with others or you can take a row boat or paddle boat out yourself. Very very interesting and beautiful place.

We stayed at the hotel as we were guests at a wedding there.
We paid almost double the usual rate at the New Bath Hotel.
At the time of booking there were some cheaper alternatives not far from the venue but we decided to stay on site for convenience.
We felt that it would be a treat and were happy to pay extra if it meant that we were stayinv somewhere really nice.
In my opinion this is not a place that should be charging nearly £200 per night.
Very dated exterior and balcony.
The swimming pool and breakfast were both a massive plus.
Perfect location for the Peak District and Matlock Bath. The B&B is tucked away in a quiet spot, but very easy walking distance to the town centre and shops. The owners are very welcoming. They made sure that my stay was comfortable with lots of little touches like magically remembering my (detailed and full of substitutes!) breakfast order every day, having non-dairy and veggie alternatives available, providing nice toiletries and a mini fridge with snacks, and giving good advice on what to see & do. I had such a relaxing time!
Old, interesting and quite quirky Hotel in a great location. Our room on the top floor was spacious with a large comfortable bed. It also had a pleasant view, was well equipped and being high surprisingly free of road noise. Breakfast choices were pre ordered, served hot, extremely tasty and good ingredients. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful, the attraction discount voucher and 4pm -11am parking pass were very useful. Would happily stay again if returning to Matlock Bath.
Hotel was in a good location between Matlock Bath and Matlock, and was easy to find. Bedroom was clean and dusted and the sheets were clean. The bathroom was generally clean and well appointed with a good shower, however there was some mould and dirt at the bottom of the shower cubicle door. I had a hairdryer in my room but my dad didn't and had to ask for one. There were plenty of towels also. We were only there for one night so I didn't use all the facilities in the room.
Beautiful cozy little home a short stroll up the hill from Matlock Town centre!
Spotlessly clean with a beautifully fitted out kitchen and bathroom - a perfect little place for a break from it all!
Excellent communication from Judith, the owner.
Can't fault and will definitely be back!
