The room was much nicer, for this stay, particularly the shower. The parking is also a bonus. Location is convenient, as we only stay for a night away from the kids.

We stayed as we hired a room for a party. The room(s) we hired were just wonderful. We had the run of 4 interconnecting rooms all splendidly furnished and decorated with period ornaments and artefacts. The buffet spread was excellent and actually too much. We ordered a buffet for 20 people to cater for approx 30 who turned up and there was plenty left. The catering and bar staff couldn't do enough to help us.

Nice hotel , free parking and close to city centre
Bordering the Peak District, pioneering Derby was the site of the first factory during the Industrial Revolution. The city was a silk producer and a former mill forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Derwent Valley Mills, lining the Derwent River between Derby and Matlock.
Also by the river is Darley Park which hosts an annual chamber orchestra concert. The city centre arboretum was England’s first public park, and Markeaton Park in the north-west has a light railway. Nearby is the university campus and 18th-century Kedleston Hall, a Palladian-style mansion involved in filming of ‘The Duchess’.
Another royal connection is Bonnie Prince Charlie who stayed at Exeter House. A replica of his room is in Derby Museum and Art Gallery, and there is a statue of him in Cathedral Square. Opposite is the oldest pub, the Dolphin Inn, but the best nightlife is around Friar Gate.
The nearby Cathedral Quarter is full of eateries and shops, and the Westfield Centre houses big name brands. The Grade II-listed Market Hall offers a range of stalls above underground tunnels which are supposedly haunted by one of Derby’s many ghosts.
Derby County FC play at Pride Park, near the train station and several hotels with parking. Booking.com also offers cheap apartments and guest houses near East Midlands Airport.

The art gallery was interesting, especially the surrealist paintings. I highly recommend the Kedleston Hall! The staffs there were really helpful and informative, and the elegant interior design is especial. The Pickford’s House is interesting too, because there’re many grand upper-class mansions open to tourists but not homey middle-class houses like this. Everyone I met in this town was friendly, like we’d been friends for years.

Plenty of bars and restaurants. Perfect for shopping too.
Very lively on a Saturday night.
Personally I would recommend more Christmas activities. What was there was nicely done though.

We loved the cathedral and old quarter, we loved the Book Café which we visited three times in three days!
We loved all the little shops and cafes near the Cathedral up Saddlers street? Also noticed live music and beautiful places to go at night but we didn’t go into these this time.

The visit to the football club was great I attended an event in the club at night and the kids were overwhelmed. The shopping centre was amazing and so close to my hotel which was walking distance, the coach station has plenty of facilities food outlets plenty and general goods choices
Had an overall good experience there. Biggest gripe was with the bathroom. The sink had the worse drainage system for water collected on its surface. All that water falls down as a stream on your foot. Other than that good hotel. Good breakfast. They made vegetarian sausages for us . The spread was good and we had a good breakfast. Staff was friendly, rooms tidy. Dedicated car park with barrier. The location is just near the Derby train station and city centre. Good rates for value
Great friendly host, beautiful building, gorgeous rooms and spotless clean. We booked this same day last minute because we had to be at Derby Hospital early the following morning and it was a really nice surprise we had managed to get such a lovely hotel last minute. Breakfast was good, beds were really really comfortable. Only grievance was that the bathrooms are shared BUT there are plenty of them so was always at least one available :) would definitely stay again
A high-quality budget hotel with clean rooms, plenty of hot water and polite, helpful staff. A quiet location on the edge of Derby with private parking that costs £3 for 24 hours. Dog-friendly. Breakfast was satisfactory if not outstanding. Free coffee and tea available in reception. Although it appeared full, it was quiet throughout our stay, we would happily stay here again.
Derby Mickleover Hotel is in a very convenient location. It has ample parking, a very relaxing and comfortable lobby area and a leisure centre. The rooms are quite spacious, very clean and well equipped. We were pleased to note on this visit to the hotel ( we have stayed quite a few times) a programme of refurbishment has begun.
This hotel is to be recommended.
Everything! Cheaper than a Travelodge and Everything was just as good. Big bathroom, big mirror, lovely door mirror, USB plugs, amazing food. Slept well, good room temperature. Great location, in city centre. Free parking. Friendly staff especially at breakfast and reception. Clean everywhere!
The hotel has an amazing collection of period furnishings in each room and around the building. A pub adjacent to it with again period details and good food. It's a short walk into Derby, free parking and we even had a four poster bed. If you like the antique look then you would love it .
everything we liked everything we stayed in snowball room highly recomend big comfy bed good shower amazing coffee machine which was nice touch we ate in hotel breakfast nice dinner was amazing id highy recomend and will one day go back even staff were perfect
The property was cosy and well furnished. The location was ideal for visiting nearby places and close to lots of shops (and the best bakery chain in Derbyshire, Birds). There was barely any noise from the pub below the hotel. We slept very well every night!
the location is great right near derby centre , lots of food places right on the doorstep lots of supermarkets and world foods if you want to cook yourself , lovely clean and modern apartment , well stocked kitchen and really comfy beds ,sofa bed is great ,
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Every member of staff was so friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and dinner was also excellent. Derby city centre is a short 25 minute walk. The retail park behind the hotel also has lots of great shops.
Absolutely terrific stay. The staff were so helpful and friendly, always one call away. Our group have already agreed we will 100% be staying here when we return to Derby. 2 steps away from Fat Cats came in handy! Thanks so much, guys!
