Beautiful building well renovated. Very attentive and friendly staff who check you into your rooms and take your food orders in the lounge in a more relaxed and enjoyable environment. Our waiter was particularly good and professional while being funny which our guests enjoyed. We also did a tour of the grounds which was enjoyable. Rooms are small but comfortable and homely. Food at the restaurant was excellent.

What Guests Said About Shrewsbury:

Shrewsbury is a little gem of a place!

Shrewsbury is a little gem of a place! Plenty of lovely places to eat and drink. This medieval marvel has managed to keep hold of many of its unique shops, unlike many other town centres. The theatre manages to attract some big names and there is always something to see there. The Quarry gardens in the middle of the town park is well worth a visit, as is the 12th century Abbey. You can take a lovely trip on the Sabrina boat down the river Severn and the Museum in the town square is also worth a visit and has some really good exhibitions.

Many foreign tourists flock to London, York and Edinburgh. If you are looking for that traditional British experience Shrewsbury knocks spots off them. It’s simply a beautiful , historic city , easy to walk with fantastic independent shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. The city blends the old traditional with a wave of young new retailers brightening up old businesses.

Outstanding building and grounds enhanced by the beautiful weather we experienced during our stay. We ate in both the Oak room and bar and the food was excellent. Staff were very good with my gluten free requirements. Our room in the stables building was very spacious and clean with a conveniently placed safe in the wardrobe. Very comfortable bed. Excellent location for Shrewsbury, Powys Castle and Attingham Park but the hotel sign is easy to miss. We didn't use the spa.
