We had a small intimate garden wedding local and decided to spend our first night as husband and wife at the Roslin. The staff was so kind to me and told me how beautiful my dress was as we left to go get married. They upgraded our room for free and made the night so special.

I went just at the start of the Easter break, and it was nice and quiet, I imagine it being a popular summer resort. Good facilities with plenty of eateries. Travelling around Southend was okay, gets busy during rush-hour. Great long walks along the esplanade and the pier. A lot of the shops were closed during close-season.AAnonymous - 4.0Scored 4.0

I lived in Southend for many years, this was a visit to see family and attend a family gathering. The town (I will never call it a city) is a shadow of its former self. I wouldn't go to Southend unless I had a specific reason, it just isn't as welcoming as it used to be and the high street is dead. In the summer, short break with young children who want no more than the beach and this place would be ok. There are some decent restaurants but stay out of the town centre for those.

Loved the large round stepping stones that lead to the garden from the patio doors. Beautiful large open dining room and kitchen. We brought our Golden Retriever along with us and he loved the freedom of moving around from the kitchen to the garden. Great communication and the location is SUPERB!!!!!
