St Austell is a run down and neglected town hard to navigate and not much to see. Charlestown is a delightful harbor with a good choice of restaurants and bars a bit of a shame that the harbor is being worked on but it has to be done. My friends and I only came to St Austell for the Eden...
My friends and I only came to St Austell for the Eden Sessions which is held at the Eden Project where top artists play live each year this year we saw Biffy clyro and the venue is an amazing backdrop with the biomes lite up at night the one place any music fan should visit . We wanted to visit the Eden project.
We wanted to visit the Eden project. This was the main reason for our visit. However there is a lot to do in this area especially when the weather is good. We visited Looe area. St Austell encompasses a vast array of villages both in land and coastal so a blanket review of 'St Austell' is meaningless. St Austell town has all the amenities you would need but cannot be said to be pretty. However the numerous coastal villages and country house and Eden Project make the area a good base. Longer but pleasant walk (30 mins) to the harbour village of Charlestown. Good mixture of activities. Nice outside pool with warm water, perfect for a sunny day. Inside pool and jacuzzi for colder days. Sauna and steam room. Quiet, clean, upmarket hotel with lots of older couples here for the golf course. Lovely views from the bedroom window.
