Everything was great, the parking permit is a great touch, I was not aware of this perk.
Having stayed a number of times at this hotel, everything was a good as usual.

Glad that they had parking for guests in a gate (though a bit of a tight squeeze) and the room on the first floor was very nice for our one night stay. The location was only two blocks from the shore for a nice walk and near several attractions.

Lovely spacious room, comfy bed, and great rainfall shower. It had everything we needed for our short stay. The road was quiet and there's a CO op within walking distance with a bakery which was great for breakfast. I would stay here again if in the area.

This historic hotel, built in 1779, has free parking and an excellent location about 650 ft from Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard, Portsmouth Harbour Train Station, Gunwharf Quays and Spinnaker Tower.

An important harbour for centuries, Portsmouth counts with one of the busiest ferry piers in the United Kingdom, has the oldest dry dock still in use in the world. Its Historic Dockyard is home to famous British ships like Lord Nelson's flagship HMS Victory, the Mary Rose and the HMS Warrior.
In the picturesque Old Town you’ll find typical English pubs, coloured houses, and small independent shops. It also has a Fish Market provided by the city’s small fishing fleet. In Old Portsmouth is possible to find smaller hotels, B&B’s and guest houses, some of them not far from the ferry harbour.
The Gunwharf Quays are a modernly renovated shopping area, home to the Spinnaker Tower, while the centre has an ever-growing number of shops. Don’t miss Commercial Road and the Cascades Shopping Centre. Hotels in Portsmouth’s city centre allow you to be close to everything what the city has to offer.
For relaxing moments, Portsdown Hill allows panoramic views over the city and the Isle of Wight. During summer, its sandy beaches are a must.

I was only in Portsmouth as I using the Brittany Ferries . Over the last 35 years my son had lived here at some time so I know all the attractions. I did not visit any on this holiday trip.
However the City is well worth a visit to see the Navel History

If you like history Portsmouth is great. We did not know about the hovercraft that went to the Isle of Wright which I wish we could of done. Spent only about 3/4 of a day at the Naval museum. Could easily spent 2 days.

I can't really praise Portsmouth Dockyard highly enough - I am a seasoned traveller and this was one of the highlights of my life.
Portsmouth Dockyard was more amazing than I could have imagined. Our train was late, so we only had two days plus a couple of hours and it definitely needs three full days. I'm glad we left the Mary Rose until last because it was even more incredible than the rest of it. Personally I didn't find the explosion museum very interesting, but that's a matter of opinion and my husband enjoyed it. We will go back another time to see more - luckily the ticket to the Dockyard is valid for a year.
There are other things to do in Portsmouth and we had a brief walk around the shopping outlets, but they're not really my thing. There were plenty of restaurants and pubs near the dockyard.

My accommodation, booked and paid for, was a complete disaster. It no longer even existed. Don’t get caught out, and don’t believe anything you see about staying at ‘Zoom’, it is a lie.
I was thankful to get a room at Travelodge in Portsmouth instead, but all this after a long day’s travel by train from up north.
Travelodge felt like heaven! Portsmouth was fine, but tainted by my bad experience.

The coastal area is nice to walk along.
The coastal area is nice to walk along. The Mary Rose & Victory Museum are very good.
Portsmouth city centre is dull, lacking greenery or planters, many shops are empty. It is not an attractive city centre!
There is a statue of Charles Dickens in the Guildsquare otherwise the area is grim.
Lovely, bright and quiet room with pillowed window nook and (partial) view of HMS Warrior, funky glass-fronted drawers and spacious bathroom. Airy breakfast room with hot and cold options. Friendly staff. Overall, a very nice independent hotel with character at a reasonable price. It's located just steps from the Portsmouth Harbour rail station (though with no train noise, at least in my room) and in the heart of Portsmouth Harbour, minutes away from both the historic harbour area and Gunwharf Quays for food and shopping.
The location couldn’t have been better as my brother was leaving on a year-round, round-the-world yacht race from there on Sept 3. The boats were there at the end of the wharf just about 1/4 mile away. And the hotel is at the end of a high scale mall with LOTS of restaurants, pubs, cafes.
Linsey at the front desk was amazing and super helpful, as was her young male night shift co-worker (Phil?). LOVED having the bar and food till 2:00 a.m. for those of us who are insomniacs!
The Hotel is in itself old but the character of the place is lovely. I really enjoyed the ambiance of the building. The room was spotless. The breakfast and evening meals were very good and choice was excellent in the food menu. The bed for me was a little soft but but I slept soundly. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
The hotel is near to all the facilities you would wish to visit in Portsmouth .
Such an easy check in with the key box. The location is fantastic with street parking and the train station behind the property, making it easy to get to Portsmouth harbour, city centre or London in a hour if needed!
Comfortable beds, clean house and fabulous kitchen making it possible to cook your own food if you didn’t want to eat out.
Will be staying again!
A nice hotel in a quiet location easily reached by local busses. It's a long way but you can walk it from Portsmouth Harbour. If so make sure you go via the magnificent Gunwharf Quays and coastline.
Steve was very helpful and welcoming.
A nice clean comfy bed. Good value for money.
The staff at the hotel were all very polite and tried to resolve any quires. The hotel is very central, therefore it is easy to get around on foot. The university car park is just opposite the Ibis hotel and has plenty of room and much cheaper than the Ibis car park.
The breakfast was very nice, and the location is perfect for a trip to Gunwharf Quays, and Portsmouth's many attractions, there was parking right next to the hotel, and the views from our room of Spinnaker Tower and one of the old ships in docks was great.
Location was great, easy access to the sea and Portsmouth old town / Gunwharf. Rooms comfortable, good facilities as advertised, shower hot and good pressure.
Quiet inside when we were there. Convenient check in and check out, easy hotel access.
Very clean room, large and spotless bathroom, very friendly and helpful staff, free parking with easy access to the hotel. Good choice for breakfast. Ordering from the restaurant and getting it sent to the room was very quick and easy.
An excellent location, at Gunwharf Quays and near to Portsmouth Harbour station and the Historic Dockyard. A great welcome from Barry, a very comfortable and practical flat, and an amazing view from the ninth floor.
price good for the quality of the hotel, nice and complete breakfast also gluten and lactose free.
guys at receptions were all nice and they changed me room because I wanted a double bed room .
We really like this Hotel because it's close to everything we need such as the sea and restaurants.
The hotel is Clean, staff friendly and welcoming.
The breakfast is good
Very good customer service and friendly staff. The hotel is convenient and not too far from the main attractions in Portsmouth. The rooms are convenient and clean.
