Beautiful building well renovated. Very attentive and friendly staff who check you into your rooms and take your food orders in the lounge in a more relaxed and enjoyable environment. Our waiter was particularly good and professional while being funny which our guests enjoyed. We also did a tour of the grounds which was enjoyable. Rooms are small but comfortable and homely. Food at the restaurant was excellent.

Everything. The location was great for our stay, which combined a festival weekend and a sightseeing day. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us, for which we are gratefully appreciative. The room was a delight, very comfortable, spotlessly clean and everything you need to make a cup of tea. Their restaurant underneath provides a great choice of food and drinks and is also very welcoming. I can't thank the staff enough for making our stay in Shrewsbury extra special, thank you.

We loved the Sabrina Boat Cruise and the Sabrina Gardens.

We loved the Sabrina Boat Cruise and the Sabrina Gardens. We loved the old pubs, especially the Henry Tudor. We love the Japanese Restaurant, nearby. The castle is a great visit with great views. The town is easily walkable for all the best sights. The Abbey is always worth a visit and is free to enter.

Shrewsbury is a little gem of a place!

Shrewsbury is a little gem of a place! Plenty of lovely places to eat and drink. This medieval marvel has managed to keep hold of many of its unique shops, unlike many other town centres. The theatre manages to attract some big names and there is always something to see there. The Quarry gardens in the middle of the town park is well worth a visit, as is the 12th century Abbey. You can take a lovely trip on the Sabrina boat down the river Severn and the Museum in the town square is also worth a visit and has some really good exhibitions.

About 4 miles from Shrewsbury Town Centre its perfect if you have a car although there is public transport available. Located in an industrial park its quiet in the evening so great for a good nights rest. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Breakfast is buffet style and good quality. Room was clean bed comfy bathroom good. Overall a good hotel to explore the area but would best be enjoyed if you have your own transport because of its remote location.

Amazing boutique hotel located in the centre of old Shrewsbury loaded with history from the 16th century – but also includes a vibrant restaurant and bar downstairs. The staff were very attentive and enthusiastic about the building and their growing business. Over the two nights we both had a good rest and sleep, which is important. We would definitely stay their again – should an opportunity present itself.

We love The Lion Hotel, with all it's quirky charm and history, we stayed in a standard double, it was clean, comfortable and spacious, plenty of tea and coffee too. Breakfast was delicious continental and cooked breakfast choices set us up for the day. All the staff were friendly and helpful. It's in a perfect location for exploring Shrewsbury and will always be the place we stay over when visiting.

The Prince Rupert is situated in the heart of Shrewsbury and a core part of its history too. Its staff are friendly and obliging. Car parking is offsite but only a short walk away and still convenient - as are the many great pubs and restaurants the town has to offer. It's not the cheapest Shrewsbury hotel but it still represents good, consistent value for money.
