You have to visit Fira and Oia if you come to Greece.
You have to visit Fira and Oia if you come to Greece. The views are really unique and beautiful! I was mesmerized by the white buildings and sunset which are extraordinary!
The flip side is the price (really expensive!!!), the amount of tourists (especially from cruise ships) and the lack of locals living in these places. Nearly all building are hotels / airbnb's, which kind of makes the place lose some of its personality in my opinion. Also, try to avoid coming in the hot summer months to avoid the crowds and the heat. During my stay in June 11th I faced 40°C, which made it impossible to walk around for long periods of time.
Make no mistake, the beaches in Santorini are not the reason you are coming here. So, if possible, try to come when it is not so hot and/or crowded.

This is a place from fairy tales to live in ! Fantastic view to Caldera and big cruise ships comming every day during season. In my opinion Fira offers much better view comparing to second best place Oia.

In our opinion, Fira is the best place to stay in Santorini in order to explore the rest of the Island. It is beautiful, centric and convenient. The public bus service is excellent and inexpensive. One can easily take the bus to and from the port and airport.

The setting is spectacular, the culture fascinating and you get a workout on the steps. The food and wine is delightful too especially the traditional Greek cuisine. It's an open secret so be prepared for the legions of others who are onto it too, especially the cruisers. Get up early to beat the crowd.

Fira is a beautiful city on the perfect location.
Fira is a beautiful city on the perfect location. Just right in the middle of the island with easy access to the north and south of the city. Plus the main bus station is in Fira, all the buses depart from this city to other parts of the island. The views of the caldera from Fira are amazing and the city centre is beautiful and full of restaurants and shops. I definitly recommend to stay in Fira. The prices of things are affordable in comparison if you stay in Oia.
A magnificent property set on the caldera side of fira Santorini. The views are incredible from every room and every vantage point from the hotel grounds.
The staff are amazing and go above and beyond to assist with any enquiry. Thank you Sasa , Nickos , Amar , Daniella , Stella and all staff for making our stay truly memorable. I would recommend this hotel with no hesitation, it was fantastic.
Breakfast was very good too with a great choice of fruit , bread , yoghurt and omelette very well presented and delicious. Thank you again 🙏
The location of this hotel was excellent, just a 5 minute walk to main square and 10 minute to the views of the caldera. The staff at this hotel were very friendly, attentive and helpful. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the pool area was really lovely and relaxing. We had the breakfast one morning of our stay. It was delicious and we were able to pick the items we wanted from a menu. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you want to base yourself in Fira to explore Santorini!
From the beginning to the end of our stay, everything was fine. Every day we had towels changed and the room cleaned.
Special thanks to Edmund.
He was very nice and helpful. Our breakfast was great. We were full.
The center of Fira and bus station were located nearby. Cca 15-20 minute from hotel on foot.
The hotel’s location is in the beautiful street of Fira.
We will definitely come back and recommend the hotel to everyone who wants to visit Santorini.
Thanks for everything. 🤍
The room in itself is one of the most organically aesthetic places I've stayed in. It doesn't try too hard, is minimalistic and classy and conveys the ethos of Greek traditional and local architecture easily. I loved many design elements.
The service was superlative and I felt more comfortable in Fira and Santorini due to the owners. Amenities were good quality and linen was superb. Will recommend this place highly. I had a good night's sleep and spent a comfortable time here.
Amazing stay! My husband and I stayed for 5 nights and this was everything we expected and more! Highly suggest this location as it is in the center of Santorini and close to Fira, the airport and the ferry port. The views and accommodations were beautiful. Breakfast and staff were exceptional. There was even a bus that would take us for free to the town of Fira every other hour! We felt very safe, comfortable and content. Would definitely stay here again!
We just booked one night at the hotel and wished we stayed longer when we got there. Staff was so nice and even gave us a free upgrade. The room was huge, it was more of a villa. Location and breakfast are both very good but the real highlight of the hotel is the property itself. Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Santorini. If we had stayed here longer, I think our overall experience in the crowded island would be significantly better.
Nothing, as I was angry about the mouldy room. I regret I haven't booked somewhere else. Recently this facility was advertised also as Fira East Heart Rooms at booking.com, before it was advertised as Fira Economy Rooms, now it disappeared. The host keeps changing the profile and name of the place at booking.com - probably due to reviews they receive from their guests. It is situated just opposite the road from the Milos Villas Hotel in Santorini.
Loved this hotel. Great for a budget trip to Santorini. Right next to the bus station where you can go anywhere for a euro or two. Supermarket and good value food options nearby. And a few minutes to the cliff face to see the classic Santorini views.
The guy at the front desk Ledio was super helpful in giving advice on what to do.
I was really happy I chose this place.
Small property in a great location, just a short walk from Fira. The staff were friendly and attentive, they really couldn’t do enough for us. We stayed here 5 years ago and loved it then, in that time it’s got even better! The food was lovely and good value for money. Rooms cleaned every day. This really is an amazing hotel, you won’t find another like it in Santorini 🤍
facing the east side this hotel is a basic one. however for the price it delivered what it promised. a nice big room and a big breakfast spread on the eastern terrace. not too far from bus station of fira. stay there if you dont want to burn a hole in your pocket and still enjoy Santorini. they also arranged a pickup car for us from the airport during late check in.
Properly was amazing. Beautiful outdoor area with pool (which not many hotels in fira have). Comfy beds, close to centre and an amazing host who really made our time there. The transfers from the port at the start of our stay and then to the airport at the end went smoothly and were 100% worth the money. Would definitely stay here again if I went back to Santorini.
Located in Fira centre, close to shops and restaurants, bus station and free parking spaces, yet separate from city noise. Comfy and nicely designed, Santorini-style villas with private jacuzzi and shared pool (although it was like private, because there are just a couple villas). Very helpful and nice staff. Highly recommended.
Hotel is in great location close to the center of Fíra and key sights. There is also a big pool what is rare for Santorini with the bar so conviniet to get drinks and ice-cream. The view on volcano is also very nice. Staff is helpful, provide recommendation and tries to find the solution
The hotel is an excellent location for walking around Fira and for accessing the bus station that can take you directly to the port and beaches all around Santorini. Our room was also clean, comfortable and surprisingly quiet considering its central location.
This is the perfect place for a family to stay while visiting Santorini. The shuttle for the quick drive into Fira was extremely convenient as there is not much around the hotel. The breakfast was wonderful and had a huge variety of options.
The pool area! Quiet and just outside the busy part of Fira. Only a short walk into town with lots of great restaurants, bakeries and cafes nearby. The best gyro in Santorini is at the bottom of the driveway - Golden Grill Santorini.
The view was incredible
All the staff was super friendly and helpful
We can only highly recommend this lovely hotel in Fira Santorini
Thank you to everyone at the Lilium Hotel Santorini for our great stay !
Great location in Fira, Santorini! The view from our suite was amazing. Greta hot tub, and breakfast were awesome. Very helpful staff. Highly recommended and will consider again for the next trip!
Very nice hotel with probably the best view in Santorini, great price to value ratio. The breakfast also was very good, also helpful and welcoming staff. With car to Fira only 3 minutes.
My friend and I went to Santorini and were recommended to stay in Fira. We were glad we found this location. Dimitris went above and beyond to make the experience a great one for us!
