Relais Chalons d’Orange was a fantastic place to stay if you are visiting the Parco Nazionale d’Abruzzo. Pescasseroli is right in the middle of the park. Even though we were there in the middle of high tourist season, the area was not packed. It was also a great place to escape the heat of Naples and Rome. Ross and his wife keep the place super clean. The rooms are all well-designed. The breakfast featured locally made products from yogurts to jams to pastries and more. When I mentioned that my husband is celiac, they were able to provide delicious, gluten-free breakfast pastries made in a bakery (not mass-produced). We liked that the property is a short walk into the center of town as we prefer not having to deal with ‘center of town’ parking. Ross is also very knowledgeable and gave great suggestions for places to have dinner, walks to do in the national park, etc. Being cat lovers, we were also entertained by the adorable kittens that live near the property.

Great location, really peaceful but walkable to town. Comfy beds and a sunny balcony. Good value for money and friendly owners. Lots of easy parking. The town itself is absolutely lovely and definitely worth a visit.

The Hotel Iris is a family owned and operated hotel. It is in the National Park and has beautiful views. It feels more like a lodge than a hotel, very fitting in this park environment. The rooms were updated and handled our large group very well. The staff is remarkable. They take a real interest in you and treat you like family. The food at their restaurant from the included breakfast which was the best we had on our trip, to the delightful dinner we enjoyed were superb. They accommodated all of our needs. The first night we arrived late at night and needed dinner and the owner got in his car and drove us to a restaurant that was open and the meal was delightful. We needed to have documents printed out and the staff stayed up late to help us meet our needs. I can't say enough good things about the Hotel Iris. We look forward to returning one day!

The garden, mountain air and children’s play area was wonderful. The staff were warm and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and had a nice assortment of pastries, cakes, yogurt, fruit and salumi. The cappuccino were made to order and very good. In the lobby we enjoyed the comfortable chairs and couches. My kids had fun playing chess.

    Wonderful pensione and beautiful and friendly staff . From the time we booked till we checked out of the property, Ida and her dad were always in touch and attentive to our needs. The room was spotless, the linen was fresh and the room was cleaned everyday. The Pensione is right in the center of Pescasseroli and is a short walk from grocery stores, cafes, and restaurants. Thanks for moving your car everyday to allow us to park in the adjacent car park. We really appreciate it. 🙏 Ciao and hope to return someday.

    Perfect location, 5 mins away from centre of Pescasseroli and the start of many hiking routes in the area. Breakfast was traditional and fresh every day, Gianluca and team were super lovely. They were kind, helpful and endlessly considerate, perfect hosts. I felt very safe as a young solo female traveller, and although my Italian isn't great Gianluca always made sure I was okay.

Very pleasant bar area. Plenty of covered parking at rear.. Everything about the place was saying well managed. Plenty of facilities in nearby town centre

    We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the place with a view on the mountains and the possibility to park the car next to the hotel, the walking distance from the city center, vintage wooden furniture in the room and authentic country style of the building and its interior.The idea of breakfast in the garden was a nice touch too.

    The hotel was set in a beautiful garden with swimming pool. unfortunately it was too cold to swim when we were there, but we appreciated very much that our room was heated although there were few guests due to the adverse weather. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.
