What really struck me about the hotel was how clean everything was. The rooms, the lobby—it all felt spotless. Despite being in an area bustling with nightlife, I always felt incredibly safe walking around, even late in the evening. It was a huge relief to not have to worry. Another thing I absolutely loved was the incredible variety of food options right at my doorstep. No matter what I was craving, there was a restaurant for it, from great local spots to international cuisine. It was the perfect location for a foodie like me.

FAQs about hotels in Osaka

A Stronghold of Japanese Culture

At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.

However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.

The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.

The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.

The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.

We came to Osaka mostly because of Expo, but was very pleasantly surprised by how nice the city was. Great food, fun markets, streets, with cool sights to see, and very close to Kyoto, Kobe, Nara and all the smaller towns to go to day trip to. The metro system is great, after one drive it is easy to understand how the system works (take the IC card, it is so much easier than buying tickets every time). We never googled restaurants, we would just walk in where we saw a few locals, and every time they were super welcoming and food was very tasty. Pokémon Center was disappointment, but Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan was such a breathtaking experience, you can easily spend 2 to 4 hours inside. I definitely recommend for a trip!

Love this city! Beautiful with many different areas to visit, very clean, many beautiful high-end shops, older areas with great restaurants and older charm, train stations easy to locate with Google Maps, shopping excellent, can easily take the Shinkansen to Osaka from Tokyo. We loved Osaka!

Osaka is great for people that like the busy city life. Shopping could be an adventure. It is near neighboring attraction cities such as Kyoto and Nara, which could be reachable within an hour or two. One can join locals favorite restaurants and experience the real deal.

The Hotel we stayed at was super convenient to shops, train stations and food outlets. Loved it all. My eldest son mastered the trains, shinkansen, buses, trams, ferry and attractions early on our trip so was navigator every time we wanted to go somewhere. It didn't matter whether we were travelling in peak times or late at night. The Osaka shopping strip is huge, and while I do love the setup/foods of Tsukiji Outer Market in Tokyo and Nishiki Market, Kyoto, Osaka offers so many choices that we're glad we chose to spend our longest time there and made our day trips from there to other places.

Since it was summer when we went there, it was hot, I was sweating, but if it were a little bit colder, then it would be perfect. Train timings are exact, you should be on time, though flat forms are a little bit confusing. Locals in Osaka are helpful, and Google Maps is so helpful too. It was our first time visiting Osaka, and it was through Google map that we were able to reach our destination. I suggest you take a wifi or eSIM card upon arrival before leaving the airport.

although the city itself didn't have a lot to do in comparison to others, it was very handy for day trips. i was able to day trips to nara and kyoto. the food in osaka was very good and there were some really tasty and affordable food spots dotted around the city. i think if i'd had more time in japan i would've spent less time in osaka and done 2-3 nights in kyoto and then stayed in kobe and hiroshima instead, though if anyone is every considering going to japan, osaka is still a must.

Location is unbeatable. The hotel is literally at Umeda / Osaka station. The amenities were self serve and generous. The coin laundry excellent - 700 yen for a full load of wash and dry in 2 hours is the cheapest / best value for money we’ve come across in Japan so far. Laundry came out lovely and dry. The layout of the room is also very clever - where the bedroom feels separate to the shower, toilet and other areas. We also appreciated that they could store our bag for a few days prior to check-in.
