Lovely, historic city. Home of Cinco de Mayo!! Conveniently located to Mexico City - I took a bus from Puebla directly to the Benito Juarez Airport in Mexico City - $25 US - 2 hours. Beautiful, historic churches in Puebla - be sure to take a walking tour of the city and a tour of Cholula and Atlixco (actually seemed to be suburbs of Puebla but it was a 7 hour tour). Tourist office is SO helpful & is located on the zocalo. Zocalo is lined with outdoor restaurants. Puebla is truly one of the most beautiful and enchanting cities I’ve ever visited. From the moment you arrive, you're surrounded by stunning colonial architecture, vibrant streets, and a rich cultural atmosphere that is both welcoming and inspiring. What I love most about Puebla is how it blends history and modern life so seamlessly. You can stroll through the historic center, admire beautifully tiled buildings, visit awe-inspiring churches like the Puebla Cathedral, and then stop for a delicious meal at one of its many outstanding restaurants. The food here is unforgettable — full of flavor, tradition, and soul. The city also has a peaceful, elegant rhythm. It’s lively but never overwhelming. Whether you're exploring artisan markets, visiting museums, or simply enjoying the view of the volcanoes in the distance, Puebla offers something special at every turn. The historic center is worthy of its designation as a World Heritage Site and is remarkable for its architecture, history, and walking. The museums are worth the effort not always for their collections, but for the old homes in which they are beautifully housed. Do not miss the Amparao Museum for this reason - but note this exception, its collection of precolonial artifacts is volunimous, well organized, and very commented and a beer or coffee on their rooftop café is sublime. One issue: air quality can be nearly as bad as that of Mexico City, it is the one reason I never stay there too long.Guest review byDougUnited States - 10.0
