The staff were amazing! Super friendly and attentive throughout the resort, the entertainment staff are fantastic - Noah still misses his "amigos". The rooms are clean and comfortable. Dining at the hotel was a delightful experience with diverse and delicious options. I’m confident your stay will exceed expectations and provide memorable moments.

Beautiful location with spotless rooms. Very friendly staff who go over and above to help out. Absolutely fabulous breakfast! Dinner also delicious and bar snacks good. Swimming pool not heated in May but swimmable if brave and on the hot days we were there. Quieter hotel, calm and relaxing, not for wild parties. Bring good, grippy walking shoes—top of hill, lots of slippy cobbles! Forget your heels unless using Uber/taxis everywhere (very good, inexpensive service in the town).

Tavira is nice, but the stones polished by decades of cars and foot traffic made the sloping sidewalks/roads feel almost treacherous. This is not the location to get away from freezing rain. Some of the old area in the east side is undergoing upgrades to the water system, which means it may be dusty.

Cute little city full of 70 year old tourists.
Cute little city full of 70 year old tourists. Few restaurants other than Indian food. Little shopping. Beaches nice but very difficult to access. Pararia do barrill involves street parking then walking a half mile to a train which will take you 1 mile to the beach for 2eu each way. Or you can walk on a slanted broken walkway all the way. At the beach there is one overpriced restaurant.
Overall Tavira is Not family friendly at all.

We are scoping out retirement options so were looking for walkability and reliable public transportation. Tavira offers both! Local market is full of fresh meat, fish, fruits and vegetables along with wares such as baskets and cut flowers. Lots of restaurants and shops. Walking distance to train which we took to the eastern border then hopped a ferry to Spain for lunch. We opted out of the hotel breakfast and found a cafe across the river for coffee and avocado toast one day, another day we went to the Pingo Doce grocery store for coffee and a breakfast sandwich. We tried a different restaurant for dinner every night and every meal was fantastic. If we had to do it over again, we would not have rented a car. The metro, train and bus system is reliable and comfortable as well as much cheaper and less stressful.

Tavira is a city with very interesting architecture. It's crossed by a river that gives it a certain romantic flavour. It has some very interesting beaches nearby, with sand as far as the eye can see and good water quality.

Loved the Friendliness in this nice quaint old town, unfortunately the roads / streets were in process of being dug up & left rather unsafe ( we witnessed a lady falling).. lots of cobbled streets which were left unfinished. Hopefully they will complete soon for travellers & residents to enjoy this lovely town.

Tavira is full of character and has an obvious love of its history and heritage. It offers the opportunity to have a beach holiday without it being forced upon you. Wander down all the back streets and find new places.
We mostly self-catered but there are many restaurants with differing cuisines. Take a punt - it will probably pay off. If you like octopus take a trip to Santa Luzia just 3km away. It is a charming fishing port and the octopus catching centre of Portugal
The hotel is a beautiful converted old historical house in Tavira right near the castle, a short walk to multiple restaurants, the river and access to the beach ferry. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. There are common lounges, areas to sit and play cards and a roof top sun area. Each morning we ate breakfast on the terrace under umbrellas in the sun. The breakfasts were amazing with fresh pastries, croissants, fresh fruits, local cheese, local charcuterie and coffee. We didn't want to leave.
the history of this beautifully restored property! the rooms were beautifully appointed with the most comfortable bed and luxurious sheets we’ve slept in during our Portugal travels. our room , facing the back of the property had a private pool which was absolutely worth it! the breakfasts were decadent and the unique touch of fresh baked cake to self serve any time was wonderful. we were walking steps to everything in Tavira. The handwritten welcome note is a small example of why Colegio is a cut above !
Well equipped kitchen, good shower, the location cannot be better, comfortable beds, quiet and efficient air conditioning. We like to have breakfasts on the rooftop terrace with a view of the sunrise, river, Roman bridge and old town. There are trays in the kitchen to take the breakfast to the roof. Also terrace is good for drying the cloves. Free parking lot is 400 m up river. Hotel is close to many good restaurants and to the beach ferry. The mangers are friendly and helpful.
The hotel is ideal for visiting Tavira; centrally located and surrounded by good restaurants with a short walking distance to the ferry that takes you to beautiful beaches. Miguel is a charming and helpful host who serves a lovely breakfast from a menu to order including fresh squeezed orange juice and local, fresh pastries! Comfortable bed and hot shower. Really nice rooftop deck/patio from which to relax in evening or enjoy coffee in morning!
What an oasis! One of the best stays I've had in Portugal to date, and I've been living here for 4 years! Such a peaceful space, with a spa-like quality. The forest really provides a sense of isolation, even though it's located in a more residential area, once you step in side, you are transported to a little getaway paradise. The breakfast was delicious, the bedding was comfortable, like a cloud, and the common spaces were clean and relaxing.
We liked everything about this property. We needed a place to relax after a busy 6 days touring around portugal and the OZADI was perfect. There are food and drinks available close to the pool. Poolside was very relaxing. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. It had a nice balcony with view of the pool. There was a great selection of food for breakfast and the roof top seating has spectacular views
The staff were polite, friendly and very helpful. The hotel was very tranquil and peaceful which was great at the end of a month touring and walking Portugal and Spain. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We loved the view from our room, with the garden and the ocean in the background.
The rooftop area was a lovely place to sit with a book, have a drink, and enjoy the room (and the sun!)
This is a great traditional bed and breakfast hotel, located centrally within the old town. My room, on the first floor, had a lovely balcony, an interesting view onto the street, and much needed aircon. It was also close to cafes and good restaurants. I'd recommend Tavira as a great place to stay - it seems more genuinely Portuguese - than other places on the Algarve - something l really appreciated.
Fabulous hotel in very relaxing surroundings.
Great shuttle bus into Tavira centre available Wednesday through Sunday.
They will provide you with fresh towels daily for taking to the beach 🏖️
Waiting staff are so friendly and helpful.
The hotel gave us a number for the local water taxi it's the nicest way to travel and you can be collected from the hotel's private jetty.
Fabulous boutique hotel in central Tavira with restaurants, bars, ferry to beach etc all a few minutes away. Lovely traditional breakfast and staff extremely kind and helpful. Nothing was too much to ask - restaurant bookings, airport shuttle, timetables, etc. Would highly recommend as a very traditional, unique and endearing hotel.
It’s all the little details that make this guesthouse a 5 star experience. Breakfast, light up mirror in the bathroom, amazing smelling soap in the bathroom. The staff goes out of their way to help you plan your trip as well and give great tips about Tavira and the surrounding areas.
second time staying here, this is one of the best hotels in tavira. somewhat a mix between budget and comfort. the views from the top floor where the bar is looks amazing, even for this time of the year. really liked my room except this time I didn't have a view at all...
love this hotel/hostel. wish there were more of them. great location in Tavira - on the river. lots of information and responsiveness from the staff. clean rooms. comfortable beds. great view and a great terrace with great views of the river. truly great!
I like the quirkiness of the hotel. The very friendly helpful staff. The good choice and quality of the breakfast. The location which is ideal for the centre of Tavira and all the cafe's, shops, nightlife etc and opposite the ferry to the island.
The location was very centrally located near Tavira and the outdoor pool was nice with a comfortable, shaded patio area adjacent. The breakfast buffet had a very good, extensive selection which is par-for-the-course at most Portuguese hotels.
Andrea, our host, was the best. It's a very unique hotel in the perfect location of old town Tavira. The breakfast was well done, and the sunny patio is worth an extended visit. The bed was very comfortable, about perfect.
This was the best accommodation I stayed in while in Portugal it was immaculate with a great outdoor space and fantastic location it was very well looked after.
Rustic Portugal construction. Beautiful grounds pool tennis court. Nice staff, exceptional. If you are looking for an experience you have it here. Very clean
