Lovely place, lots of historical and interesting places to visit. Great scenery, lots of colourful houses with beautiful flowers adorning the exteriors. Plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars to sit and enjoy the atmosphere and surroundings. Parking is very difficult in and around Sintra. A nice place to visit but full of tourists. The nature around is beautiful and you can visit some of the attractions but expect a lot of people. You can find anything from beaches to forests, all in a 15-minute drive. The roads are narrow and it's hard to park.CCorinaGermany - 10Scored 10

There are many historical places in Sintra that can be reached on foot. if you go to the right of the historical museum you can find a small restaurant on the balcony where they bake bread in a wood-fired oven. unfortunately I forgot the name, but you can see the sign. Very charming. And visit Long Beach and the restaurant near the rock and try octopus on the grill. Very recommended.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

The roads are very tight, the crowds of visitors are intense and some of the locals working in local shops/restaurants are very rude and completely over having to deal with tourists. However, the views are amazing and the Moorish Castle was very cool. Difficult place to travel but worth it!

Sintra was a lovely town but I like Aveiro better especially the hotel we stayed in. The hike to the palace is not that hard. Proper hiking shoes and clothes should be worn. It is not a stroll through a park. You will be climbing up and down narrow stairs. Bring water. The palace is beautiful!.

Very touristy and difficult to manage with a car. Quite pricy. Good food at Tascantiga though. Pena palace was too busy to enjoy properly though the Moorish castle was great. Shame didn't have enough time to visit Quinta da Regaleira.

The location is absolutely perfect, cause it took just 22 minutes from villa to my home in the Lisbon city centre (Avenida da Liberdade). The cleanliness was perfect, - everything (floor, walls, dust, moisture, whatever do you expect from the home in Portugal) was perfect and in best condition you ever can imagine. It was not so hot like it was in Lisbon and not so cold/windy/helly like it can be in Sintra ))

Host Gabriela was very hospitable and made excellent recommendations of what to see in the area (sunset at Praia da Adraga was amazing!). Breakfast was amazing with vegan, gluten free meals. if you decide to go to Azenhas do mar , stay here. You just need to walk 5-10 mins to go there anytime. Village is very safe to walk any time during Winter. From the city center of Sintra to hotel, it took 9-10 euro by Uber. But you can take bus as well (every 40 mins).
