The staff were amazing! Super friendly and attentive throughout the resort, the entertainment staff are fantastic - Noah still misses his "amigos". The rooms are clean and comfortable. Dining at the hotel was a delightful experience with diverse and delicious options. I’m confident your stay will exceed expectations and provide memorable moments.

Beautiful location with spotless rooms. Very friendly staff who go over and above to help out. Absolutely fabulous breakfast! Dinner also delicious and bar snacks good. Swimming pool not heated in May but swimmable if brave and on the hot days we were there. Quieter hotel, calm and relaxing, not for wild parties. Bring good, grippy walking shoes—top of hill, lots of slippy cobbles! Forget your heels unless using Uber/taxis everywhere (very good, inexpensive service in the town).

Excellent location. Nice employees. Liked the room and bathroom. It would be nice if they started breakfast at 8 or even 7:30 a.m.

The location is very nice, we were situated right next to the walking path which leads to the beautiful beaches along Tavira. It is not 'walkable' into Tavira, but if you have a car and are looking for a little community away from all the tourists, this is the place for you. The place is a little funky, it felt like a summer camp. There really isn't a couch in the living room, but two additional beds, which was odd. The kitchen had the dishes you need, but you need to have all your own spices, oils, etc. The room didn't have wifi, but we were able to rent a router for 1 euro, which worked really well. We had a nice little yard, which was great for the dog. We ordered pizza and salad from the bar, which was excellent!

Tavira is nice, but the stones polished by decades of cars and foot traffic made the sloping sidewalks/roads feel almost treacherous. This is not the location to get away from freezing rain. Some of the old area in the east side is undergoing upgrades to the water system, which means it may be dusty.

Cute little city full of 70 year old tourists.
Cute little city full of 70 year old tourists. Few restaurants other than Indian food. Little shopping. Beaches nice but very difficult to access. Pararia do barrill involves street parking then walking a half mile to a train which will take you 1 mile to the beach for 2eu each way. Or you can walk on a slanted broken walkway all the way. At the beach there is one overpriced restaurant.
Overall Tavira is Not family friendly at all.

We are scoping out retirement options so were looking for walkability and reliable public transportation. Tavira offers both! Local market is full of fresh meat, fish, fruits and vegetables along with wares such as baskets and cut flowers. Lots of restaurants and shops. Walking distance to train which we took to the eastern border then hopped a ferry to Spain for lunch. We opted out of the hotel breakfast and found a cafe across the river for coffee and avocado toast one day, another day we went to the Pingo Doce grocery store for coffee and a breakfast sandwich. We tried a different restaurant for dinner every night and every meal was fantastic. If we had to do it over again, we would not have rented a car. The metro, train and bus system is reliable and comfortable as well as much cheaper and less stressful.

Loved the Friendliness in this nice quaint old town, unfortunately the roads / streets were in process of being dug up & left rather unsafe ( we witnessed a lady falling).. lots of cobbled streets which were left unfinished. Hopefully they will complete soon for travellers & residents to enjoy this lovely town.

Tavira is full of character and has an obvious love of its history and heritage. It offers the opportunity to have a beach holiday without it being forced upon you. Wander down all the back streets and find new places.
We mostly self-catered but there are many restaurants with differing cuisines. Take a punt - it will probably pay off. If you like octopus take a trip to Santa Luzia just 3km away. It is a charming fishing port and the octopus catching centre of Portugal

We've become familiar with Tavira after several visits over recent years. It is a lovely understated destination as a living, breathing 365 days a year town. Not at all touristy, though popular and busy, it's a great base for a sunshine and beach holiday as well as easy access to Spain and onwards. A wide spread of bars and restaurants gives plenty of choice for evening entertainment, and all within short walking distance.
close to town and hotel facilities perfect for what we wanted as a chill at the end of the year which we were able to do by the pool as weather was great. breakfast selection good too although the coffee was dreadful - had to pay for an espresso or cappuccino which wasn’t great, most hotels we have stayed in Portugal which are many this was the first time, disappointing so we went out for coffee after breakfast and paid 70cents a cup!
Our experience was fantastic! We received a warm welcome upon arrival and were given a thorough tour of the facilities. We particularly enjoyed the common area and the kitchen. Although the weather was too chilly to use the pool, it was still very relaxing to be there. We had a great time grilling by the pool. This was the best place we stayed during our trip to Spain and Portugal.
Beautiful hotel in the center of Tavira. This place was just as nice as we expected. I booked it mainly because of the amazing rooftop pool area but actually the whole hotel was very stylish and new. The rooms are spacious and have very stylish decor. All in all the room was perfect and the rooftop a big bonus to spend some relaxing time in the afternoon.
The staff, especially Paulo, were great. The room was small, as expected, but had charm, especially the tiling in the bathroom. The location is perfect. The roof terrace was amazing with 360 degree views. Breakfast was good, beyond the norm in Portugal, with eggs, bacon, and freshly cooked pancakes if desired.
The property and it’s staff are too notch. The meals and beverages were delicious, the pool beautiful and refreshing! The hotel backs up to a private beach which was a delight and a great surprise…there is a ferry at this beach to bring guests across to the full beach on the open ocean.
By far the nicest place we stayed in during our trip to Portugal. Clean and modern room with high ceilings, spacious bathroom, view of the plaza below. Lots of attention to detail, from the complimentary water bottle to the nice shower gel. Very good value for money too!
Beautiful Hotel and great size pool
Room was a good size for our family of 4.
Shower was the best!
So many options for breakfast with friendly accomodating staff, just let them know if you have any allergies and they will help.
We used the gym which was great
Very pretty, historical property. It was clean, comfortable with a nice bed. Bathroom was spacious and it had a nice little kitchen. It is the most spacious apartment we’ve had in Portugal. Staff is friendly and helpful. Plenty of free parking on premises.
Delicous breakfast and delightful, boutique hotel which is so charming. Rooms spacious, very comfortable bed with good linen and soothing background music in hotel - very relaxing. Lovely pool area too. Location super and easy walk into Tavira town centre
love this hotel/hostel. wish there were more of them. great location in Tavira - on the river. lots of information and responsiveness from the staff. clean rooms. comfortable beds. great view and a great terrace with great views of the river. truly great!
The location was very centrally located near Tavira and the outdoor pool was nice with a comfortable, shaded patio area adjacent. The breakfast buffet had a very good, extensive selection which is par-for-the-course at most Portuguese hotels.
Lovely, comfortable and nicely decorated place. Everything is carefully thought-out and designed with taste. The hosts are gentle, warm and welcoming. More than recommended, Tavira Inn is quite above the other accomodations in Portugal.
Excellent breakfast selection and staff very welcoming, helpful and attentive. Hotel within a short walking distance of local restaurants and amenities. Tavira is a good base from which to explore the Eastern Algarve.
Everything was outstanding: from the warm and friendly welcoming to the cozy clean room, unique bio "from the yard" breakfast and great pool. We'd love to revisit some time, this house was our top Portugal stay!
Love the location, authenticity (you feel like you are in Portugal) and ambience. All staff are very helpful & friendly. Good that you can hire beach towels. Breakfast is excellent with a good variety.
Tavira is a very charming town. The location of the hotel is excellent and a quick walk to the center. The breakfast was fairly good. This hotel is not as rich in decor as others in the group
We liked the location. However when you read the reviews please read Sebastio's rude responses to those who score his hotel 8 or less. It shows all you need to know.
Rustic Portugal construction. Beautiful grounds pool tennis court. Nice staff, exceptional. If you are looking for an experience you have it here. Very clean
Lovely breakfast! Best we had during our trip in Portugal. And the place is so quite and rustic! It's walkable to the centre but feels like the countryside.
