FAQs about hotels in Boston

Where Everybody Knows Your Name

One of the oldest and most historic US cities, Boston is known as "America’s Walking City". In its heart, next to 18th-century Faneuil Hall, is Quince Market - a food haven. In the nearby seaport, you can take a whale-watching trip or dine at one of the many restaurants serving a Boston specialty: lobster with melted butter.

The streets south of the peaceful Charles River in Back Bay are lined with Victorian brownstone houses. At the downtown end of one – Beacon Street – is the Cheers bar, modeled on the 80's sitcom. Opposite is Boston Common, a large park with a bronze sculpture celebrating the book "Make Way for Ducklings". The golden dome of the House of Representatives is by the other end.

The oldest part is Charlestown and streets around the Bunker Hill obelisk still feature old-style gas lamps, though now they are electric. Over in Cambridge, Harvard is the USA’s oldest and most prestigious university. The campus is open to the public, as is Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), whose central point is an emblematic, Pantheon-like building.

Sport in Boston is also a big thing, with the Celtics and Red Sox among the city’s big name teams.

The largest New England city, Boston has the perfect size for walking and cycling. Logan International Airport is connected by public transport to Boston hotels, motels, apartments and B&Bs.

I’m not a fan of Boston, I went to college there.

I’m not a fan of Boston, I went to college there. It is a nice town to visit in spring, summer or fall for a long weekend. The seafood there is excellent. I recommend visiting Wallys, a hole in the wall jazz bar in the back bay.

So much history to explore and markets to enjoy.

So much history to explore and markets to enjoy. There was a great ramen restaurant on Newberry Street, and a good Irish pub a few blocks from my hotel. A walk to Union Oyster House was rewarded with a fine meal, including chowder. Fenway Park more than met my expectations. Love that place. I went up to View Boston at the top of the Prudential Center, and it was worth it. I'll make plans to be back to this great city.

We went to Boston in the summer.

We went to Boston in the summer. Enjoyed the walking tour of the freedom trail. The Boston tea party museum was interesting. We took a day trip to Salem as well. Boston is well connected with public transportation so going around is convenient. However, Boston is an expensive city in comparison to the other states we visited.

the location was nice, the room very small, but comfortable. I did not like the fact that when you list the hotel you make appear as that parking is part of the reservation and it is not. I had to pay for parking, and it was very expensive.

Lovely city on the water. Historical boat trip well worth the money (1 hour). Trip up the Pru Tower well worth it and for those of a certain age, Cheers Bar well worth the visit. An evening at the very new South Boston for lively bars ands restaurants recommended.

There is so much to see in Boston.

There is so much to see in Boston. It is a city which one can walk around. We had fun dining at the "Cheers" bar and visiting the bay where the Boston Tea Party took place. I loved the Italian quarter, where Paul Revere's house is situated. I could have spent a week just sampling all the Italian food at the many restaurants there. Look out for the free municipal buses, but don't worry if you have to use the subway. It only costs a few dollars. Enjoy!

The staff at the property were extremely friendly, helpful and couldn’t have been more accommodating. We arrived in the am of our check in day and were greeted by the most lovely young lady at reception. As we were there too early to check in, she stored our luggage and directed us to the coffee and tea station, restrooms and seating area on site. She also provided us with a city map and went above and beyond with explaining local cafe locations. This was the best welcome to a hotel that we experienced in our entire 5 week stay in the USA.

The hotel has a great location in downtown Boston, close to everything. It is at a walking distance from the South train station, and 15 min by taxi from the airport. Diana and Danny from the reception were great and very helpful. Having free water bottles available in the hotel corridors (and coffee in the lobby) was very convenient. The Elephant & Castle pub connected to the hotel is a good option for breakfast. The AC was very good and quiet.

Great location in Back Bay. Within walking distance of the Red Sox in one direction and the Freedom Trail/downtown Boston in the other. We can’t speak highly enough of the staff and the service from the hotel. We were lucky enough to be upgraded. Rooms are historic with open fires that we didn’t use. And we loved The Lenox sign on the top of the hotel.

Large new hotel with everything we needed for our stay in Boston for the marathon. Large family rooms. Great facilities including a decent gym and pool area. Cafe for morning coffees and a couple of top quality restaurants. Good location, not far from downtown for the marathon, but far enough away to escape the marathon chaos.
