The shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, with the Palazzo Pubblico and the Gaia Fountain, is still the heart and soul of the city. A beautiful historic city with a unique atmosphere. Unesco monument. The unique Il campo square with the Gaia fountain. Pallazo pubblico with museum and tower. Siena Cathedral, Piccolomini Library, Battistero di San Giovanni, Museo dell'Opera Metropolitana del Duomo, Loggia della Mercanzia, Palazzo Salimbeni, Basilica of San Domenico. This was a great location for visiting Siena and the local region. Although on a bus route the buses aren’t very frequent so it is certainly easier with a car. Parking available at the property. Good restaurant next door - but sadly not at all good for vegetarians! The monastery on top of the hill is a must - we had a drink up there in the bar - but the food in the restaurant looked great too and was reasonably priced. A great base for visiting Tuscany.

The property and staff was amazing and they were able to recommend restaurants, arrange taxi service and especially the wine tour to the Mazzie Winery in Fonterutoli.
