Everything was perfect! The apartment is a peaceful little gem with a big terrace and a beautiful mountain view. The kitchen is well equipped and the bed is super comfortable. The location is very convenient, Barga city centre can be easily reached with a 5 minutes walk and it's a good base to reach many trails and attractions in Garfagnana. The hosts, Mairi and Fabio, are incredibly nice and gave us recommendations for restaurants and things to do. We'll definitely go back when visiting Garfagnana again!

Great location for touring around the area by car. The views from the place are just stunning. Anna Maria is a great host. She went out of her way to help me try and arrange a visit to a nearby church and shared things from her garden and orchard.

The most favourite place that I have visited in all the world and I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Tuscanyt. Barga Veccia ,has a stunning Cathedral, an Opera house, many fabulous restuarants and throughout the town there are many art galleries and individual shops to explore. There is also a swimming pool open during the summer months. Do not miss going to Casa de Vino for wine tasting and picnic. It is also easy to travel from there to Lucca, Viaregio Castelnouvo and you can even visit Florence from here for the day.
Bite the bullet and go there you will not regret it, enjoy.

The town was beautiful and nature is wonderful.
The town was beautiful and nature is wonderful. We would love to come back. We came on a Monday and several restaurants were closed because it was in the beginning of October. It will be nice to be in the town, when all places are open.

Barga is a beautiful old town with some stunning scenery. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and a market once a week - recommended.
If travelling by train, allow plenty of extra time in case of line changes - the cost of train travel is low but remember to validate your ticket on the station platform before boarding.
Barga is a fabulous Tuscan location.

The historic village has meandering lanes and alleys.
The historic village has meandering lanes and alleys. They can be quite steep, so wear flat shoes with a good tread. From the hillside and the duomo you will enjoy amazing views of the mountains and the valley. The newer section of town outside the walls is also lovely and worth a visit.
We warmly recommend Il Cioccho hotels. We stayed at the Belveder hotel. It is located on the slope of a hill with a picturesque view on the valley where a small town of Barga is located. We are very grateful to the staff of the hotel (and personally to Ms Rosa Rita) who picked us up given the fact that the location was erroneously put on the maps.me map. For future guests: it is advisable to rent a car or pre-order a transfer if you arrive to the nearest train station. The breakfast were excellent and delicious. We would love to come back.
This place took a little finding, so well hidden was it amongst the maze of lanes and alleys that make up the old part of Barga. However, once inside we found a delightful apartment, and a very welcoming host. Clean, tidy and comfortable, with a mini bar and fruit and nibbles all included at no extra cost. Our itinerary only allowed us a stay of one night here, but we could have stayed much longer. Anyone visiting while the fish and chips festival is taking part must make time to visit - it was a real treat.

The location was wonderful - a quiet street in the charming old town part of Barga with good restaurants very close by including a lively cafe with good food in a loggia. Giordano was very nice and helpful. The hotel itself is exceptionally interesting, in a multi-floor large house, with several rooms full of paintings. Our room was larger than most hotel rooms, not fancy but with a great view of the town and mountains. Overall, my wife and I loved out stay.
I had a wonderful stay in this beautiful down to earth Villa in a perfect central location to explore Barga, and Alpi Apuani an southern Garfagnana. my room looked out over the fairy tale looking old town of Barga and the aqueduct leading to the old town. My host, Adele was exceptionally warm and friendly. the breakfast selection was ample and delicious. I will definitely stay here again!
Paul’s house was a lovely, warm haven in Barga old town. Besides being fully stocked for a week long stay, Paul had some welcome beverages and fruit waiting for us, which was so appreciated.
The bed was so comfortable and there was no skimping on the quality of the sheets and towels.
Paul was a wonderful, responsive host and we will certainly stay there again when next we are in Barga.
The name literally means In the Sky…of Barga…and the location lived up to its name. It is located just below the Duomo, the highest point in this enchanting medieval town. From the room and its nice sized balcony, the rooftops are just below, offering incomparable vistas of Barga and the Serchio River valley. Great bed. Nice bathroom. But it’s the views that are incomparable.
The rooms were gorgeous and loved the balconies. It’s in a wonderful location and has beautiful grounds. The pool is fabulous to lounge around and the staff were all so kind and friendly. Overall it was a wonderful experience. The restaurant L’Altana was so delicious we ate their two nights in a row.!!! history of the hotel made it an even more special place to stay
The B&B is situated on the outskirts of Barga centre, a nice rural location. The rooms and
the kitchen were well kept and therefore lovely to spent time in. The hostess was very friendly and
accommodating! Every day there was a well served and varied breakfast. The property has
a very pretty large garden area with furniture which we made use of.
The artistic ambience with interesting artwork and spacious rooms with gorgeous views. A potentially sociable hotel with rooms available for family gatherings surrounded by paintings, and interesting objects of art. A definite feeling of being amongst history being brought to life, with artwork by Cordati and Peter Byatt, amongst others locally.
Lovely airy room right in the very center of the old town of Barga. A large balcony with an arch gave a beautiful view over the city and surrounding mountains, providing spectacular sunsets. The fittings and decorations of the room are simple but exquisitely tasteful. Spacious bathroom. Welcoming and helpful host.
The hotel has a very beautiful setting. The space was clean and cool, despite the heat. There is a full kitchen for guests to use and some basic supplies for breakfast, including delicious home made jams. The host is extremely kind and helpful, we really enjoyed chatting to her in the kitchen.
Clean and comfortable house - just 20 minutes walking from the historical center of Barga. Big rooms - more than enough for 4 people. Surrounded by small garden. Free parking place nearby.
Beautiful small accommodation with fantastic outdoor space. We stayed in the Chalet. Approximately 10 mins walk to Barga, we loved this place and hope to return
