I liked the area as there are some lovely little villages within a 20 mile radius. It was nice to see all around without having to travel far. There is lots to see and do, whatever your heart desires in almost on your doorstep. We had our dinner out in Anna's restaurant and OMG the batter is so crispy and tasty, the chips were crispy on the outside and so soft in the middle. It was such good value and sits right on the sea front.

Cockermouth is a pretty town with many buildings of interest. Wordsworth's birthplace is there, but it is closed in winter. The rivers Cocker and Derwent flow through the town with banks of daffodils in spring. Plenty of small shops, restaurants and traditional pubs as well as two supermarkets.

We were here to visit a relative and have been several times before so know the area pretty well. Plenty of places to eat or Get a drink, (alcoholic or otherwise). Supermarkets handily placed and lots of independent shops with a side range of goods.

Cockermouth has potential but is in need of more eateries, we stayed 3 nights and struggled to find anywhere nice for meals. The Bush is a lovely pub with good food but that's all we had to choose in the area.

Hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Cockermouth. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they couldn’t do enough for you. The breakfast was excellent, especially the omelettes. The we stayed in was really big with a huge bathroom, really clean. Their restaurant - Blocks, it’s a must, the food was out of this world, book a table when you book a room. We managed to book a table whilst we we’re staying at the hotel but there was only the two of us, it gets booked up pretty fast and I can see why.

The location was perfect. Have stayed in any hotels and accommodation in the area this is by far the best. Lot of the others the provided pictures flattered them with these the opposite they do not do them justice. So much space in the accommodation and the facilities were first rate. We opted the optional breakfast and glad we did the produce used were first rate. When next in the area will be my first choice (hopefully reviews like mine will not men it is fully booked)

Excellent location for exploring Lakeland, especially the much overlooked Western Lake District. Cockermouth (2 miles away) is a very pleasant town and a good shopping centre, and much quieter than the touristy towns such as Keswick. A lovely shower with plenty of hot water and space. The convenience of a dishwasher. Private parking right by the apartment. A genial host who could not have been more welcoming and helpful.

The hotel is beautifully and sympathetically presented in line with the period of the property. It offers comfort and luxury and felt like an upmarket home from home. We enjoyed relaxing in the well designed and spacious room as well as visiting the wider surroundings of Cockermouth. We have already recommended Tithe Barn to others and plan to visit ourselves again. We loved it.
