What Guests Said About Reykjavík:

The city itself is very lovely.

The city itself is very lovely. It's small and walkable and with one day it's enough to know most of it's main spots. Considering that you most probably will be visiting other places in Iceland, you could make the city your base and trave to some of the main atractions from Reykjavik and come back to spend the night. Other places, it would be better to spend one or more nights on the road, where there are plenty of hotels and guesthouses to stay in.

Very walkable and friendly. The landscape is volcanic! Reykjavik has trees where elsewhere in Iceland they are very scarce. Wonderful food options (pricey). The wind is cold, but we had great weather, and it changes frequently. Natural wonders abound nearby.

Reykjavik is the starting and ending point for Iceland for those who do the complete ring road. Not much to see or do, it's a base for those who only do the Golden circle. It is a small city, with one main road, with lots of shops. Malls have economical prices. The church was good to visit from inside, one place to surely not miss when in Reykjavik.

Reykjavik was a much more vibrant city than expected!

Reykjavik was a much more vibrant city than expected! While it is a small city, it definitely deserves a long time allocated to visit it and enjoy it thoroughly. It is quite expensive though. The Whales of Iceland museum and the whale watching tours were exceptional. There are a few of small playgrounds if you’re visiting with kids.

I have been to Reykjavik 8 times but still find things to do. It is an expensive city but there are many ways to make it cheaper, the walk around the harbour is long and beautiful, lots of interesting things to see and you can pop into Harpa and wander around too,its a great building (I have even been to a free concert there). The local swimming pools are cheap and have hot pods too, definitely worth a visit. Explore off the high street to find amazing bakeries/cafes and buy treats to take home in Bonus (not gift shops!) I buy Ris biscuits or Icelandic salt to take home as gifts. There are loads of coach trips which go from a local bus station, it runs like clockwork.

I had the pleasure of staying at 101 hotel in downtown Reykjavik that is member of the Design Hotels. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel's location in the heart of Reykjavik was perfect for exploring the city. We found the hotel to be impeccably clean and the lounge area incredibly comfortable. Overall, we felt we received great value for our money. The design of the hotel is both stunning and timeless. Highly recommended!

We had the best time at Storm Hotel, it was perfect for what we wanted. There's a bus stop just in front of the hotel where all the tours around Iceland stop, including the ones to the northern lights and the airport, so we couldn't be happier. The hotel is also just a 5-10 minute walk to the city center, so it's also perfect to visit the city. The room had everything we needed for a lovely stay. Iceland is amazing and we want to be back as soon as possible and whenever we come back, we will stay at Storm Hotel.

I loved the view from the apartment. I often rent apartments in Reykjavik but this was simply the best. It had everything you need and had a very good atmosphere. The fact that it was cheaper than most others was a bonus.
