the staff was exceptional and the room was very spacious and comfortable, very nice place but the service was the star of the show, breakfast was great and Luana even gave us snacks for the road. I recommend and if I'm back in Viseu I will book here again!!

If Viseu was near the ocean I would've moved there...
If Viseu was near the ocean I would've moved there inmediately. Lovely streets to wander around, parks and local shops and restaurants. Lovely architecture to admire and just love the ambience. The N2 national road passes through here and it's close to a great metal festival.

Sao Pedro do Sul is such a pituresque village. Loved every small detail. The nature around is SUPERB and so relaxing. Very close from the beautiful city of Viseu. Not to be missed the various natural swimming pools, the historical villages around, viseu, Termas de Sao Pedro so Sul.
We ate mostly at the hostel where we staid as there are many facilities. Also Santa Cruz da trapa. Totally recommend food quality and amazing value as well as the nicest staff at Tropical restuarant. We had a car which made it easier, but there are many walking and cycling trecks as well as some public buses for travellers with no vehicle.

Viseu is a gorgeous little city with rich historical tales, medieval buildings, cute cafes, and lush gardens. I really loved this city and became impressed with how clean and safe it felt, as a young woman. I really want to visit this city again. Can’t say that for most of the cities in Portugal but Viseu was just so charming.

The city is so clean, the amenities are fantastic, the people are very friendly and relaxed. Everything you need is there and it has great history and wonderful parks and gardens. A gem of a city. The location is perfect for trips to places like Douro Valley and Serra de Estrela. Also a good location for cyclists who can access purpose built cycle routes on old the old railway line. Eating out is very affordable. Pay the two euro fee to go up to the museum above the cathedral it is probably the best attraction for two euros we have ever visited and the views down onto the square are lovely. Look out for wildlife along the river and around the fortifications. We saw otter, kingfisher and Salamanda.
