Excellent rooms, with a great location (right next to, but not in, Old Quebec City). The staff were amazing: accommodating of early arrival and late departure, had good suggestions for things to do, and even arranged for some flowers to be in the room upon arrival (wife was thrilled)!

The city has a lot of interesting places to visit though...

The city has a lot of interesting places to visit though most activities are about looking at the architecture in the old town. With the so very many restaurants in the area most travellers spend a lot of time viewing posted menus to hunt for the best match, the main sport in the area. I think it is wise to plan ahead and target based on results as all is available online. Restaurants as in most tourist areas are pricy and prices reflect accordingly though some places are a bit more cost friendly than others. The other main attraction is to take a cruise on the Fleuve. The cruises offer various packages including a 3 hour serenated diner cruise with subsequent dancing. We booked the top offering costing 600$ for two persons and left the boat rather disappointed given poor service, no recognition for our top of the line purchase, chewy tenderloin, unseasoned lobster tail, faux garlic butter and more. If I were to repeat or my kids would want to go, I would take and suggest the cruise but eat dinner on land at a restaurant. Please note we may have been unlucky and part of the issue was caused by quality over price not being good.

Quebec City is one of my favorite places to visit.

Quebec City is one of my favorite places to visit. It is beautiful, charming and quaint. I brought my daughter and her family there for their first visit and they were delighted. They were thrilled to see where their ancestors, the Bouchards, came from around 1650. The younger ones rented bikes to tour around and we found a great gluten free bakery, Chez Hansel and Gretel. The family loved the ghost tour. I first visited Quebec City with my French students in the 1990’s and fell in love with it. I have been back 5 times now both with family and students.

Views of the water & historical landmarks were the best. Tourist Visitors Center was awesome. We used it several times. So many tourists fighting for sidewalk space & outdoor seating for meals got to be a challenge. We did whale watching tour & Plains of Abraham tour. We visited Parliament - check in there was very through. We thought we were cleared for state secrets. Ha!

The small old town part is nice but at times feels artificial, other than that it’s not worth to go if you aren’t into fine dining. The latter surely is nice but if I had the chance to go again I’d rather go to Ottawa instead

The location is excellent. It is within walking distance to everything you need - La Citadelle, the Plains of Abraham and of course the Old Town. The best thing about our stay was the atmosphere. It is such a beautiful little Bed and Breakfast. The kitchen was well equipped and every day we relaxed on the terrace or in the living area with a cup of tea or a glass of wine. The host went out of her way to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. I have recommended this to friends and my parents as the place to stay in Quebec City!

Our stay in the Atypic Hotel was very enjoyable. It is located in the heart of old town, every sightseeing spot can be reached by foot. The check in/out were easy and convenient. Our host Wiliam was very welcoming and made us feel at home. He answered every question and gave us good recommendations. He was awesome! Further, he explained the kitchen rules (free breakfast + bring your own food and do your dishes). The rooms were small but well organized and tidy. A washing machine and dryer are available in the basement.
