The best English country Inn I have ever seen and had the luck to book. Perfect setting. Perfect facility. Good value.

The hotel was beyond my expectations. It is perfectly beautiful - the decor, the gardens, the views, the restaurant, spacious rooms. It was all wonderful.

The owners were lovely. Breakfast was delicious. This is a wonderful hotel in an excellent location to explore Dartmoor, and very affordable. The owners, and others we met in the village, kindly went out of their way to share helpful ideas about where to go and what to see.

The location was perfect with easy access to the moors and Tors. There was plenty of storage space to keep clothes etc. The kitchen was superb and well appointed with plenty of pans for cooking and crockery. The bedrooms were a bit dark because of foliage growing across the windows.Would have liked a shelf to keep toiletries in the bathroom.Perhaps a bbq would have been good to have in the garden.

A quiet village off the beaten track but only a short distance from the trunk road (A38) through South Devon.
We dined in the Hotel. Superb walking on Dartmoor : the big Hay Tor granite outcrop is only 40 minutes on foot uphill from our quarters in the Rock Inn, or ten minutes drive plus 30 minutes walk if you are starting from the village.

What a lovely little town.
What a lovely little town. We walked around and found the most wonderful art gallery that had local artists displays and beautiful work of all kinds. The people were lovely all over and the town itself is very picturesque and easy to get around. Lovely cheese shop and little boutiques to keep busy visiting. Loved it!

We were a small group of walkers staying at The Dolphin for a few days, It turned out to be an excellent choice! Plenty of parking space (even for one of our number who arrived in a motor-home) and a very warm welcome. The rooms were clean, comfortable & recently refurbished especially the en-suites which were immaculate & appeared to be brand new. Tea & Coffee was provided in our rooms & fresh milk & drinking water was thoughtfully placed in a fridge on the landing. We all slept well after an excellent evening meal from the extensive menu followed by drinks in the bar.
Breakfast was served at sensible times, cereals & fruit juice followed by freshly cooked choices from the breakfast menu. All the staff were polite, helpful and cheerful. Nothing was too much trouble, all in all a superb small hotel with good facilities at reasonable cost located at the Gateway to Dartmoor which deserves every success.

As it says On the edge of Dartmoor, Bovey Tracey has a nice park that connects into a national trust park that has a nice circular walk this a nice café stop on the way for refreshments. the Bell inn id the best of the two pubs in the town and the Brookside café does a nice breakfast
The location is excellent, on a street that rises steeply out of the centre of Bovey Tracey, itself a good base for exploring eastern Dartmoor and nearby coastal areas. The front of the house has an elevated positions, with views over the Bovey valley towards the moorland.
The house is small but quite well equipped, with all the household items needed for a holiday stay. And parking is easy enough - unrestricted in the street immediately in front of the cottage.
Plenty of hot water and a good shower in the upstairs bathroom.
The overall building (which is predominantly the new owner’s personal home rather than a hotel) is a beautiful building. It’s very close to amazing walks/rides (and the Parke Parkrun!) and within a few minutes drive/15 minutes walk of Bovey Tracey with good cafes/bakeries and small shops.
Characterful Pub/hotel and comfortable large bedroom at the top of the Inn. Fresh milk for teas and coffees in the room. Friendly staff. Safely accommodated a large motorbike in the courtyard. Excellent food. Short walk to Haytor on Dartmouth. Efficient checkout process.
