The Cromwell Arms is a 17th century oak-beamed coaching inn located in Bovey Tracey. On the edge of Dartmoor National Park, 4 mi from Haytor Rocks, it is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Amazing friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble!.. loved the barmaid who went above and beyond.
With a stunning location in Dartmoor National Park, this inn is set in the rural hamlet of Haytor Vale. Dating back to the 18th century, it offers fantastic food and free Wi-Fi throughout. We liked everything from the lovely quirky building, the location (beautiful walks & garden outside), the room, the dinner, the breakfast (food is amazing) and the wonderful friendly staff. We booked last minute and luckily found this place which was a delight. Thank you for looking after us.

Cobb Cottage is located in Bovey Tracey. The accommodations is 27 mi from Tavistock. We took our own breakfast but there was milk in the fridge and granola provided which was a lovely touch. Beautiful cottage with a very cosy feel to it. The view was as good as promised with a very short walk to town and great walks into the countryside too.
Located in Bovey Tracey in the Devon region, Strelna Coach House - Gateway to the Moor, Dartmoor features a patio and garden views. Tip-top ultranew house with all the comforts you need in a perfect location to explore Dartmoor. Our hosts Allison and Rob were most kind and very very friendly - all in all a perfect experience!
Higher Coombe is offering comfortable and secluded accommodations just outside Bovey Tracey. Among the various facilities are a garden and a terrace. Guests can enjoy garden views. We loved it here! Thank you for a lovely stay!! The owners are so welcoming. The room was incredible, really comfy beds, breakfast was delicious (my friend particularly liked the scrambled egg and mushrooms) and really well located for some beautiful spots in Dartmoor. We would definitely stay again. Thanks again!
Located in Bovey Tracey, 5 mi from Newton Abbot Racecourse, Shaptor Studio has a number of amenities, including a garden, a terrace and free WiFi. Everything else. The hosts were very nice, and we had some lovely conversations with them. They were very understanding and supportive of us being late to check in due to traffic and were welcoming when we arrived. The room was nice and clean, and the mattress very comfy.
The setting of the hotel is in well kept gardens on the edge of Dartmoor, in a superb position to explore the wonderful countryside around. It is a great place, too, to stay when you want a really comfortable break in your journey to the other end of Cornwall. We have done this several times and always been delighted. Staff friendly and helpful, delicious meals, good choice of drinks and comfortable bed. Rooms well appointed. Particularly liked the large bathroom in Room 6! We had a lovely dinner on the outside terrace on a warm, June evening. We will certainly stay here again and recommend it to our friends.
Having visited several times over the years it is a good location, close to the moors and other attractions. The town it self has a good choice of shops. As a solo traveler I found it a good place to stay.
Nice little town with the usual sorts of shops but with the added bonus of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen gallery which is very nice indeed. Lots of little tea rooms and cafes to enjoy as well as the moors and countryside.
I stayed at the hotel overnight for a meeting the next day so didn't see much of the area. I did drive through the local village and surrounding area which I think would be worth another visit.....a relaxing long weekend trip.
Bovey Tracey is a lovely little town. The lady in the information centre at the car park was very helpful and we found a marvellous tea room just up the high street on the left after walking up from the car park. Unfortunately at the time of our visit there were road works which made things a little conjested, but hopefully they should have finished by later in the summer. We stopped at several places between Bovey Tracey, Becky Falls and Widicombe in the Moor and of course Haytor itself, all with wonderful views and places to park. A word of caution, there are many cyclists using the steep and twisting roads, they are often bunched together, so extra care is needed. We had some wonderful walks wherever we went. Our favourite place was the tea room in Bovey Tracey because the lady that runs it is so very friendly and the food and tea so good. We felt very welcome and at home.
We only went into the town once of an evening, but it looked Ike a quaint place. We had food at the Cromwell Arms public house which was very good and the pub was atmospheric . Bovey Tracy is a good place to stay as it is right on the edge of Dartmoor with good road links to places of interest. We would liked to have visited the town more,so hopefully we will do if we are travelling this way again!
