Located in Campbeltown, 2625 feet from Mitchell's Glengyle distillery, Ardshiel Hotel features accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking, a bar and a garden. That's probably the best location with the best service. There is not much too add, perfect stay. So lovely people, perfect service, beautiful rooms, nice food. Great pleasure!
Located 3 miles from the charming Campbeltown, on the Southern side of the Kintyre peninsula, Kilchrist Castle Cottages offers accommodations with free parking and easy access to rolling hills,... What you would expect from a 200 year cottage, beautiful, well kept, friendly caretakers, lovely location, great value for money, terrific communication from owners, we will be back 😀
Providing a garden and free WiFi, Earadale provides accommodations in Campbeltown. The bed and breakfast offers a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with a hairdryer, free toiletries and shower. Wonderful hosts, on arrival and in the morning. Beautiful bedroom, comfy bed. Tasty breakfast. Lots of parking just round the corner. Couldn’t ask for more, but then you add in the price. 11 out of 10.
Offering free WiFi and free private parking, Gowanlea Heights is located in Campbeltown, just 2625 feet from Mitchell's Glengyle distillery. The Gowanlea is absolutely fabulous. Cannot fault this accommodation in any way. Nothing is too much trouble for John and Dave to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. Attention to detail and all of the little "extras" make you feel spoiled from the moment you arrive. We will definitely be making a return trip as this accommodation is perfect - beautifully decorated, with lovely furnishings and all-mod-cons, too. Campbeltown and the Kintyre are breath-taking - truly beautiful. The Gowanlea breakfast is first rate and sets you up for the day. The measures in place to protect from Covid are above and beyond and ensure you feel completely safe. A perfect home from home for a couple or a family. 10 out of 10 - truly amazing!
Fonn Na Mara is a holiday home with sea views located in Peninver, 4 miles from Campbeltown in the Mull of Kintyre, made famous by Paul McCartney. It provides free WiFi and free private parking. It was a perfect location overlooking the isle of Arran, near restaurants and shops, great seafood to be had, ideal base for touring the Kintyre peninsula and beyond. It was an ideal getaway break and in a lovely peaceful place equipped with everything you need and more. Nanette was there to welcome us and show us round, despite our late arrival. We would all recommend this property, and it's a perfect place, suitable for couples and families alike.
Absolutely stunning town views wonderful however not a destination for long stay town mostly closed couldn't find places to eat in the evening other than hotels Royal superb well cooked bit pricey but excellent meal so didn't really mind. However we stayed at Argyle Arms meals except for breakfast are boil in bag(curry) or microwave meals and grossly overpriced. The staff make up for what meals lacked and are helpful friendly and hotel is very clean but it's a time warp back to 60/70s Also no lift so really struggled to acces our room despite request on.booking for ground floor or no lift arrived to face for us a difficult climb up stairs. No wifi but that we can live without also no TV or Radio in room that worked but no signal Room very basic and for five nights to overlook alleyway and bins not really that pleasant M Car hire firm were fantastic kyntyre hire. Service is excellent good rates and helpful with directions and attractions to go to. Southend tea rooms excellent good coffe and tea and cakes really hit the spot if we had more time I would have certainly returned. But for Campbell town iit seemed to be closed very few shops but it is a beautiful place that perhaps is a little worn out doesn't seem to cater for long stay visitors
Campbeltown itself is not a pretty town, looking rather run down and messy around the shore area. The location is great and whilst remote there is a chance to visit Arran in a short ferry ride from just up the road (1/2 hour). The one place to eat is the Craigard House Hotel where the seafood chowder is truly amazing and the food is second to none.
My sister , husband & l went to visit Campbeltown which is where our mother was brought up and we had enjoyed summer holidays when we were younger. We stayed in a super hotel and had lovely meals in both the Royal & Argyle hotels and met some very friendly people and thankyou to rhe helpful ladies in the heritage centre.
Car essential to view the lovely beaches in the South and pretty harbours along the coast. Not maany restaurants in Campbeltown and hotels have limited restaurant places during high season. Parking is relatively easy and free. Campbeltown is easy to view on foot and has adequate local interest on wet days.
Walk to Davaar Island was interesting to see the cave painting but quite tricky to navigate a safe route over the Boulder field on the beach. Dinner at Ardshiel Hotel was excellent . Delicious fresh local shellfish and very pleasant staff.
A lovely town. A little tired but the locals are really working hard to lift it up. It is near two ferry terminals. One for Gigha so you can go to the famous gardens and one for Islay. Campbelltown also has an island off it where you can, at low tide, see old art work in the caves. Some lovely buildings and even lovelier locals. We are in the hotel we stayed in and the food was excellent all the time.

Very friendly and helpful staff. By far the best place to eat in Campbeltown. A brilliant find with exceptional restaurant.
Lovely comfortable place to stay And very nice people who welcomed us I am definitely taking my family back here
This is a great bed and breakfast. Comfortable rooms, friendly host and great breakfast.
Staff was excellent, the room was elegant, and convenience superior.
Was only in hotel to sleep and breakfast but was happy with both
