Christchurch had really good bus and train connections if you want to travel further afield without a car. Only 10 minutes walk from the town centre to the coast. Christchurch priory was absolutely beautiful and the town centre had all the basic shops needed - as well as more arty crafty shops. And was a lovely market town to look around with many old buildings. An excellent outdoor market on a Monday. There are some very nice river walks. And a ferry service along the river - although this isn't always running - so check on the day.
Christchurch is a superb town, which offers great historical attractions, especially the Priory. There are a variety of shops, cafes, pubs and places to eat in general. It is also in close proximity of some excellent beaches, such as Highcliffe, Boscombe, Bournemouth, Sandbanks and Shell Bay. Definately worth a visit.
Christchurch is just beautiful, with plenty to see and do. There is a great selection of places to eat and drink, and it’s also a great place to just sit, and watch the world go by. It’s a great place to walk and explore surrounding areas too. I can’t fault Christchurch in any way.
I didn't have much time to discover Christchurch but I found the Red House Museum very interesting (free entry) and Christchurch Quay is very pretty. The town had lots of little cafes and eating places. If Ii went back I would go for one of the boat trips as they looked interesting. Also the New Forest is on the doorstep with lots of interesting places to visit. I had a lovely coffee and cake in Coast Coffee and watched the world go by sitting in the window.
Great hotel. Excellent cocktails although the bar area was a bit small. That being said they were in the process of upgrading the outdoor area which will be great during the summer months. Parking is a nightmare but the hotel staff do a good job of managing the cars. Room, food, drink, staff were all fab. We'll be back!
Beautiful Old England type of town with all the modern facilities to hand and the sea ! Great easy going eating places are The Oaks , Clliffhanger cafe in Highcliffe and Pebble beach in nearby Barton on Sea
Absolutely fabulous location. Beautiful garden. 2 minute walk to the main shops in Christchurch but tucked away in very private courtyard. Loads of walks. Loads of places to eat and drink. Waitrose just down the road. EXCEPTIONALLY clean - not a speck of dust or dirt in sight. Haven’t ever experienced a place like it.
We’ve had a wonderful 2 nights here. It’s in a stunning position on the river. Our room had amazing views. There’s a ferry from the hotel to the other side of the river Wick. And a ferry to Mudeford beach. The restaurant served good food. Same menu in both restaurants which we were not told about. A very good breakfast
An absolute peach of a hotel, clean, tidy and a very warm welcome from the staff. The room is larger than most, the bed is huge and comfortable. Breakfast is taken in the pub, a great selection is available with plenty of choice whether you choose a full English, lighter option or a great vegetarian/vegan choice.
A perfect hotel in the most idyllic setting, they are adapting well to the COVID restrictions. Interesting to see so many new staff and just a few of the old faces we know so well. The new staff are still trying to find their feet, but the overall experience was great.
