Hylands Hotel offers a warm and comfortable base next to Coventry train station, a 5 minute walk from the center of the city. Definitely worth every penny! So bad it was good. Pillows thin enough to shave with, one of them given to me out of another room because almost all their stock was supposedly in laundry. The plug socket was under the fitted table too far for the kettle lead to reach, so somebody had kindly torn the table off the wall. Room smelled of dead mouse. Every few hours the keycard gave up the ghost and I had to get a new one. I enjoyed my stay a lot, spent much of it laughing my ass off. I wanted the Fawlty Towers experience and this is as close as I have ever got.At just twenty quid a night I will definitely stay again for the sheer entertainment value. Doubt my girlfriend will.....

Many families visiting Coventry loved staying at The Old Hall Hotel, Telegraph Hotel - Coventry, and Coombe Abbey Hotel.
I stopped off in Coventry for two nights on my way to Manchester. I had always wanted to see the modern cathedral. I spent two hours visiting the site. I was very pleased that I had made this Coventry detour on my trip. The nearby Holy Trinity Church is beautiful and must also be visited. I went to the transport museum in the afternoon. I was very impressed with the collection and the facilities at the museum. I then saw the digital art show at the Reel Store which is next to the Telegraph Hotel. The next morning I visited the Herbert Gallery to see the current exhibition. The staff working in all these places of interest and culture were very welcoming and helpful. I spent time walking around the city centre as I was interested to see the Brutalist style of architecture that Coventry is known for. I found the town precincts pleasant with newly updated fountains and flower beds.
The Cathedral was beautiful but the area around was drab and unpleasant. This is probably because of the devastation of WW2 and the poor decisions on restructuring after the war. The people were nice though, and although we got lost getting to the bus station, passers by were friendly and got us there. The bus service was brilliant, frequent and nice drivers.
We stayed at the Old Mill hotel and ate there. Breakfast and food in restaurant were wonderful. Great location next to river. Local garden centre across the way, within walking distance great and lovely cafe too. Excellent location for anyone visiting Stoneleigh Park.
A lovely, clean and well maintained hotel with gorgeous views over the golf course and polite and courteous staff. As with many similar professions post pandemic, maybe struggling to get enough experienced staff to fill vacancies, especially in the restaurant, but those there, maybe new, made a good effort to make us welcomed. Lovely food and relaxing spa, very clean. Wonderful weekend.
not an easy city to move about in, very much car orientated and bus stops and similar public transport facilites are not at all event from the hotel - although they may exist and I simply didnt see any of these pointers. Locals are pleasant and helpful. Good quaint pubs are hard to find unless you know where to go, simply because of the city's unfortunate wartime history perhaps. I went to Baginton for quaint pub life although I am sure there must be other pubs around that are nearer this hotel.
If you have not got transport getting to the town is not easy rooms not to bad no effort made from staff to communicate with guests . Guest's have to start conversation with staff or they get ignored
Located within the stadium. The room was a good size, well furnished and surprisingly soundproofed from the main road outside. The location was perfect for my needs. I liked the bathtub, workspace, tv, late check-out... It must be great for the Coventry City fans that have to travel here on match days - I wish the Emirates Stadium had a hotel like this too!
We recently stayed at The Old Hall whilst attending a conference at the Coventry Arena. I have to say the service we received was second to none. The hotel is run by a small team of people who really understand hospitality. Breakfast was fabulous, chef even came in early to feed us. If your looking for a great independently run hotel, look no further.
Nice room. Basic, but had everything we needed. Modern decor. Comfy bed, good shower etc. The location is perfect for Coventry town centre. A walk through the pedestrian underpass across the big roundabout and your in town. Parking in the hotels own carpark was only a fiver. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
My stay at the Coventry hill hotel was a spare of the moment thing due to work being done in my home. I had all the comforts of being at home.and settled down for the evening in my room surprisingly easy. And I slept better than I do in my own bed. Brilliant, and should I need a room again, I will be back.
Stayed over as coming back from Cornwall & wanted to visit friends who stayed in Coventry so booked 2 night stay here. Booked as the price was exceptional for a Hilton hotel. Friendly staff, food was beautiful. Used the leisure facilities and they were good as well. Would definitely book again.
Great hotel with very comfortable rooms, great facilities such as the bar and restaurant. But more importantly the staff were lovely. Nothing was too much effort. The bar is well stocked with a good bar food menu. Location is perfect for the Ricoh arena and only a short drive into Coventry centre.
This was a very last minute booking due to needing to change hotels. All the staff were extremely helpful, the room was clean, modern and spacious and the breakfast was healthy and well cooked. Also felt very Covid safe. Close to Coventry town centre.
Coventry
The hotel is joined to the restaurant. I have always liked this pub/restaurant so when visiting my family I prefer to stay here. it is located in Baginton, a small nice area on the outskirts of Coventry. Breakfast was excellent.
The ONLY good thing about the Britannia hotel was the location. Nothing more, nothing less. Well situated close to the City Centre.
