A lovely quaint little town and good for lovers of horticulture, nature and birds. Dog friendly and lots of small traditional shops and cafes. Walking along the promenade is quiet, more of a nature spotting walk and history lesson than a beach trip, but you can drive to the lakes for some nice clean places to walk and paddle. 20 mins drive to Windermere or Coniston water. Lots of churches I noticed? Lots of nice restaurants and cafes you could drive to, more than you could visit in a week I think, having come from Scotland there really are a lot! I would highly recommend The Grange Hotel the town is interesting with a good variety of traditional shops the Family run shoe shop at top of main street has a great selection of quality shoes walking jackets boots and lovely pleasant staff. The chip shop has a very entertaining owner always pleased to serve you . the promenade is amazing with views over morcamme bay .. a really pleasant walk with beautiful flowers maintained by locals a pleasure to walk along . on outr trip through one of the telescopes on the promenade wee witnessed a large several hundred people walking across the bay at low tide 8km for charity amazing sight i definitely will be backGuest review byrobertUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Grange Over Sands is a gem of a place to holiday, it has numerous and varied shops, cafes and restaurants. A tranquil place that does not seem to attract the rowdy groups like Windermere and surrounding areas. Breakfast offered us a range of dishes all freshly prepared. We were also able to have breakfast in our room at no extra cost. The hotel is ideally situated near the local bistros and shops. Our room was very clean and the towels arranged like swans with rose petals on the bed was a lovely surprise. We would definitely stay at the Grange Boutique again. The beach and old buildings are beautiful. The apartment is right near shops and take aways. It's a quiet little town on the night. Apartment is lovely.
